new version have protection and you can't use not original firmware

i obviously knew that, hence my question. is the purpose of this new version to block custom firmwares, or is this a mere sideeffect of whatever it is this change is supposed to improve?

i mean i dont understand why they would block something that is positive for the popularity of their product. they dont get paid for their firmware.

The sleep bug is annoying, but I figured out (well all that I tested), that when doing something wi-fi in games, it would sleep properly. Now just waiting for fix...

is there any way to force wireless on?

why would piracy be an issue for a free product? their firmware is free and more stuff for their card is an advantage for them. thats why i assume other reasons behind this design change. i wish someone could enlighten me or explain.
