Hey! Im new here. just bought and M3 real card, the new kind
tongue.gif
and i was just wondering if theres a version of this modfied menu.eng, file for the 4.1 firmware...

if not maybe some instruction on how to do it... which program to use Xd.

Thanx a buch!

Well, it does seem to work again replacing FONT-GB. with FONTWEST

It had stopped the loading of games when we did it before on the new series 4 firmware,
but the location of the font file name is completely different in 4.2a.

It is a much better font, why the hell G6Team can't just change it in the first place,
they know most people hate the original english font.

Well regarding the font for the M3 card. I was thinking the same as everyone, it's not the best.

The link to the altered (menu.eng) is not working! So I took the advice of your good member
regarding altering the code for the (menu.eng) I altered the code using a std hex editor.

I found it at offset (00193150) I suppose it may vary! And it does indeed work.
But let me say it is better, but not brilliant!

I have taken the liberty of making the file I altered, available from my server. If it help's anyone!

My card was a M3 Real with system software ver (4.2d).

Please try replacing your menu.eng with this one, see if it work's for you!

PS: this link will be available for a while, but not indefinitely.

Awesome

Just one question: does this affect the performance of TouchPod in any way? I'm only asking because last time a font fix like this was made, some games stopped working. I don't know why a font would have any connection to the loading of games, but that's what happened before

Good point, although I have not had any problems yet!
I suppose you can always put back the original menu.eng, should it cause any issues!

No doubt someone will let us know soon enough!

It shouldn't cause any problems at all because it's just changing the font selected to use that was already there. The time when it had adverse effects was when someone was using an edited menu.eng from an older version of "touchpod", and there was probably some changes in the menu.eng from the older edited version, so it did not work with the newer version of the loader when someone tried to use the old menu.eng with the newer loader. If someone had edited thae newer version's menu.eng, it should have worked properly.

The only way I can see it messing up the firmware's functionality is because FONTWEST is longer than FONT-GB, so it could be throwing off all offsets after that point in the file... which gives me an idea for the latest Sakura... Densetsu, I'll be in touch...

Hi xJonny, your modified menu.eng work on version 4.2d. How did you edit the original one? Thank you.

compare the original menu.eng for 4.2d with the modified one on a Hex Editor to find the difference
then do the same editing for other menu.eng versions
