So what's the deal with these releasegroups/people?

Does Dax have anything to do with M33?

Which one usually has the best releases?

I'm a bit confused.

M33 = Dark_AleX and other coders
Take out the capital letters make DAX

Dark_AleX created to format dax.
M33 is his "groupname" which he uses to release his custom firmwares.

I don't know what you actually mean by GEN.
But i hope this clarifies things a bit.

Actually, DAX is shorthand for Dark_AleX

GEN is a different group that released the 3.93 and 3.95 when DAX refused to.

The m33 releases are far more reliable in terms of compatibility. GEN just doesn't have the experience that m33 does.

GEN I don't know if its a group of coders or just one but what it does is that they reverse engenireed Dark Alex custom firmware and created their own custom firmware. To me GEN is just a bad copy of Dark Alex and M33 firmware. I would suggest that if you want to install a custom firmware you a PSP, stick with M33.

They aren't release groups. Release groups release ISOs and ROMs and movies etc, M33 and GEN just release CFW.

Thanks everyone for great and informative answers. Now I know that when people are referring to Dark_AleX latest and greatest ideas they can be found in the M33-releases.
