Hell. On the first M3L-in-DSL pic the M3 Lite seems to stick out a lot, on the next one it sticks a little, and the third one it fits perfectly in °_°.

(The article is talking about having a high speed TF card, but the translation isn't clear enough...)

Was looking at the internal pics..I see a giant battery... from what I read this is a con for M3 compared to Supercard forgot for what reasons. But that might turn some people off from this product. Right now the price of almost 80$ turns me away, I could get like a Supercard Lite and 1 Gig MicroSD for 8$ more...

Lolz you could get a Supercard Lite + Superkey + 32 Meg Micro SD instead of a M3 Lite, lolz... hey at least you could download loads of homebrew or download 1 commercial rom. lolz That last pic is the dust cover. Either that or all the pics are fake.

Can you explain why battery is a bad thing? I know its used for saving but why is it so bad?

My guess is that all(?) flashcarts need a battery to maintain saves inside the internal memory(not the memorycard).
A battery shouldn't be something bad but if the battery is not rechargable in some way the saves might be lost if the M3 runs out of internal power.
This might be the con that neojei and Shinji is crying about.

Anyways... I'm waiting for a M3 Lite to arrive but as no store has them in stock I guess I'll have to wait. Sold my EZ Flash 4 Lite today so no NDS gaming for me or my gf for a while.

I'm not crying about it, I'm just wondering why it needs a battery. I heard Supercard Lite doesn't use a battery. From what I know that battery is there to power up the SRAM where the save games are saved during game play, then you either restart to have it write onto the card or then ext time you power up it writes it to the card. Whereas Supercard Lite somehow just writes the save to the card. Anyways what I'm crying about is the price of the M3 that some stores are assuming. Lol. Was there any official word on it really being about 80$?

I just think that the battery is only required for the GBA side to make saving easier because for the supercard, you need to manually save a GBA save through a in game reset and into the saver menu..

I have absolutely no idea why wouldn't they (M3/G6) give the user the choice for direct saving for DS games though on top of the safer battery saving method.. Would be a nice option since both companies ([M3/G6] vs. Supercard) are ripping ideas off each other..

I was crying cause I hate batteries. They remind me of death and death reminds me of dying. I'm allergic to death, it makes me die. Batteries die, therefore batteries remind me of death....ok, so is not that funny...

Its no big deal, I'm still going to get 2 M3 Lites (one for me, one for fiancee =D)

Wish I could afford two M3 Lites. My gf still has a DS Phat, maybe with the release of these the older flash cards may go down a few dollars, then I'll snag one for her when I get a Lite model.

Which shop should I preorder at... I have heard bad stuff about DiviNeo. RealHotStuff and BambooGaming I have never heard of and shop01 is overpriced compaired with the 3 shops above...

I wanted a GBA shell as well (no lite yet) so was a bit miffed. I am gonna try fitting it in a GBA cart when I get it. (This should be a mess!!)

If you preorder at Realhotstuff, don't forget to use the coupon code for 5% off.
This is my first time ordering from there, but I have heard many great things about them.

I decided to get M3 Lite after using my friend's SCLite for a few days.
There are a few reasons I decided against SC Lite, but they're all minor. Such as some GBA games don't work at all, a lot of GBA games having slowdown & the chance of losing the MicroSD since it loads from the top...
...but on the other hand, it's difficult to lose the SCLite itself because once it's in your DS, it's hard to get out!

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
Karma177 @ Karma177: @The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really...
