Hacking Lost all saves!

Hi All.

I turned on my DS today, and all the saves for all the games on the card are gone, including saves for GBA games I have on the card. All games load like I have never played them before.

What happened to all of my saves? I have a Kingston mini-SD.

New saves seem to work. But like I said, all of my previous saves are gone.

I sometime swap the card between my DS and my GBA, if that may have anything to do with it.

Is it the card not seeing them:
In this case assuming you are not messing around with the new beta loaders (if you are downgrade) I would suggest taking the card out and copying the data off then formatting it before copying it back (check it is called saver as well).
Or is your computer not detecting the saves?
If this is the case I would first blame a FAT error in which case you have pretty much lost them and then a error on the card in which case you have definitely lost them.

Yeah it is a FAT format you need as opposed to FAT32, if you do it from the command line or from services you can also format with64K clusters which can improve performance:

No, I wasn't messing around with loaders. I just turned on my DS and tried a game, but all saves were gone. I tried other games and all saves were gone for all games.

I just want to make sure this does not happen again. Tommorrow I'll reformat the card and reload all games.

I format to FAT, NOT FAT32 right?

i had the same thing happen.. no idea what caused it

It usually comes from aborting or powering down while a save is being written to the SD.
