eBay and Amazon don't really have a great selection, different colored stock imitation pens and pens with charms on them.

In fact i'd appreciate a couple of good sites that sells lots of unique 3DS XL accessories, I'm not knowledgeable in the ways of e-shoppping other than the basics.

heres a simple cover, its made of clear, hard, bendable, rubber.

heres a nice case/cover that is plastic with a brushed aluminum coating.

i wouldent recommend third party styluses unless its from a reputable brand name, like PDP or madcatz, becauuse cheap styluses will scratch the sh** out of your screen, but if you insist heres some cheap styluses, youve been waned.

There probably won't be any specifically released for the 3DS, because every set of stereo speakers that uses a 3.5mm headphone connector will do.
One with its own battery or own power cord would be preferred since 'lol battery life'. Ones that run off the 3DS's battery will probably sound relatively bad.

I have something I could add to this, but I haven't tested if it scratches the screen or not. For once I have a relatively perfect touch screen so I'll test it out and get back to this.

Ok, so I've had a chance to test what I used-to use on my DSLite on my 3DS. I dunno about the 3DSXL, but I know the 3DS has a much firmer touchscreen than the DSLite. Because of that I believe some things that would scratch up DSLite screens will not scratch up 3DS screens, but I can't be sure with anything but what I tested.
So, the main event...
I have one of these. I use the .7 refill it came with, except I put a hole in the ink tank and drained it out with water, pulled off the tip (white plastic) to clean out it with water too, and proceeded to write with it on paper until i was sure it was empty. I tried using it on my DSLite for a while but I think it either scratched the screen or wasn't working well because of the gel-ly soft screen. It seems to work pretty well on my 3DS and has not left any marks on the screen. If you end up not liking the gel-grip it has you could always try the standard case. I haven't tested the micro (.5) tipped refills because I actually use them, so I can't say how those will work, but .7 seems to be ok, and won't scratch the screen unless you're pressing hard.

If you're looking for something that's supposed to be a stylus, but is relatively unique, I'm not sure where to point you, as all the capacitive styli that I've found have that silly broad rubber tip on them, and all the ones for the DSes have the same semi-translucent hard plastic tip on them. Though I should note the stylus's form can also make a difference in how much you want to use it. For example I dislike the standard DSLite and 3DS styli quite a bit, but enjoy my Zekrom white stylus quite a bit as well.

This is probably the most unique you'll get out of official styli, but I don't know where to find it or how much it cost since it was a pre-order bonus for okamiden.

also small bump because my other post isn't showing up in my post history, and if this is like other forums I've been on, edited in quotes don't alert the person quoted.

very dark scenes are more common than very bright scenes so i think i made the right choice

there was also a sony with worse local dimming and the glow was really apparent

Human vision is non linear anyway. 100 nits is about 50% of the peak output of a 10,000 nit display.

really have to buy the top end model to get a tv that doesnt have any of those compromises and that would've had more dimming zones too but i am not made o money

@Julie_Pilgrim "very bright" is essentially pure white

pure white doesn't show up all that much it's mainly when looking at a bright sky

Human vision is logarithmic, it's not linear. And nits doesn't tell the whole story of perceived brightness. OLED'S look brighter then LCD's even when both are set to the same nit values because of the higher contrast ratio on OLED's

    OLED's have a 3D look

Charging port is more likely to fry up or battery fail before the display tbh lol

"And nits doesn't tell the whole story of perceived brightness" it's not about perceived brightness it's about all HDR content in TV and movies being mastered for 1000 nits so it doesn't look right with anything lower, it's also about dynamic range

As an owner of a OLED and you saying that you never seen an OLED I think I know what I'm talking about lol. I'm not talking about 3D as in 3D glasses. I'm talking about depth and pop in the picture

I mean to be fair og vitas are still kicking and not many have suffered from pixel bleed and they're going on nearly 10 years

  • SG854 @ SG854:
OLED's can get away with a lower peak brightness and still provide punchy HDR because of their contrast ratio. Like I said human vision is logarithmic. The higher the peak brightness the diminishing returns in perceived brightness.

@The Real Jdbye Oleds hit around 750 nits nowadays. The difference between a 1000 nit and a 750 nit isn't huge. It's only about a 4% increase in perceived brightness. Not huge at all. You'll need at least 2000 nit displays to notice a bigger difference.

  • SG854 @ SG854:
Read this thread it explains it. 1000 nits is not a huge jump from 750 the LG OLEDs can hit. As I said human vision is non linear.
