I've bricked my Wii u and I'm wondering if there's a way to hard mod it.
Also I have the 5 dumps backed up.

Wii u autoboots into HBC. The Wii u tablet won't sync with Wii u as the option to match the symbols didn't appear after pressing sync on console.

I believe that I installed something over the virtual console DS game which had sysnand on.

I might be wrong as this was a while ago.

Just to add, if I could somehow sync the game pad I could then navigate through HBC and use my USB loader to play my backups which I'd be very happy with doing just that

It boots straight to hbc? As in vWii? You should be able to use a Wii remote to navigate hbc

You're not bricked if the Wii U boots. A brick is black screen with white error message on boot. That's what I'm writing the guide for

Wii u HBC. Most I can do is connect a pro controller to press home, which then takes me to the mii channel which doesn't fully load, pressing home from there take me back to HBC.

Ok. You mean HBL not HBC. lol.

Do you have CBHC installed? You must if it's autobooting. Can you press home with pro controller during boot? That will give you the CBHC boot menu when You should be able to fix it from there
