The Coby's a no.
Touchpad would work.
Anything with Snapdragon, Hummingbird, etc would work. All Cortex processors are based on ARMv7.

(This was 5 minutes of research at most.)

I've never once had a smartphone, or device capable of iOS nor Android, so I don't know what keywords to look for.

Can you please tell me some specific devices though? I really don't care about brand names, HD features, built in-storage, any of that. If it has what I mentioned in the OP, It works.

I wouldn't count on the HP Touchpad unless you want to pay a marked up price on ebay. Just a heads up.

How about this?

http://www.amazon.com/Archos-28-Internet-T.../dp/B00422SGX0/

1 - Not sure i'd call it a tablet, but meh.
2 - Android 2.2
3 - ARM Cortex A8 800MHz (ARM7)
4 - No 3G, therefore no contract
5 - Cheap (cheapest i dunno...)

Obviously do your own research in case mines wrong

It certainly isn't a device I would buy normally nor do I know why you need it so it could be worthless for your needs.

Out of curiosity, why do you need an ARM7 device specifically?

Looks pretty good to me, I'll have to look into how well it'll do what I'm wanting.
EDIT: I can't find any confirmation.

I negelected to mention in the OP I'm wanting it mainly for SNESoid, PSXoid, and N64oid. Any idea how well it can run N64oid?

No idea. I have an N900 lying around somewhere which uses the same processor so i could test it on that, but even if it works it doesn't guarantee it would on the archos.

You're going to want probably an Android tablet around the $300 to $400 range for decent emulation/app access in general. That Archos tablet will not do what you want it to.

I know of a few people that are pretty happy with the Asus Transformer:
http://www.amazon.com/Transformer-TF101-A1...1238&sr=1-1

Otherwise you would want to consider an Android enabled phone, but smart phones generally aren't a whole lot cheaper.

I guess i could also point out I don't have any problem (excluding the lack of touchpad support) with emulating N64 on my xperia play... but that's kinda pricey, especially off contract.

Nook Color

or wait for the Amazon Tablet, supposedly coming out in November (if you live in the USA anyway)

Edit: all archos tablets and whatever the hell dickfour linked to are crap (as well as that Coby tablet), and just fyi you have to hack up the nook color for it to work if that intimidates you, and PSXoid & N64oid don't run that well (PSXe is better for PSX)

I can tell you that my Inspire 4G, running on a Snapdragon runs PSX4droid at a nice speed. That's when overclocked to 1.5Ghz though. I have not tested at default 1Ghz, nor I have not tested N64oid or PSXe.

Judging from Best Buy though, this would be your cheapest best bet outside of a TouchPad: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+Gala...p;skuId=2809771

If what I linked to is crap then the nook color is crap as well because the specs on the N50 are better than the nook color. So you must be recommending crap or you just don't know what you're taking about. I think it's the latter. For full specs on the N50 look here. I'd wait for a hands on review but the videos look promising.

I have to agree with Haloman on this. But if CNET is to be believed, you might want to ensure there's custom ROMs available for it. It appears they are available. Lucky you.

Adapting the smartphone OS to such a large screen requires many custom interface tweaks that fall short. Lack of official Google mobile services and Android Market limits potential. Many third-party apps don't work as expected.

Just read the comments on Tiger Direct. A few reviews have people discussing their use of custom ROMs.

Sorry, but you are wrong. Terminator failed to mention that the Nook Color isn't much of a Android tablet unless you put a Custom ROM on it. FYI the Nook Color has a gorgeous IPS display and can be overclocked to 1.3GHZ. I'd take it over that crap you posted anyday. @OP, The Nook Color runs all the emulators you just mentioned beautifully! Just need to do something that takes 15 minutes to get Android 2.3.5 up and running on it.

You're telling me some obscure chinese tablet with no google apps (and no way to hack it and get them, as far as i can tell) is better than a well established tablet with tons of developers working on it?

check this: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...&CatId=6957

$250, tegra dual core, 1gb ram, 10.1 inch screen.. Pretty much same as xoom or galaxy tab.. but $500 less -_-.

By the way, that hp touchpad is sold out, unless you want to buy it on eBay for a $200+ markup.
the gtab is also a very good choice, it has a huge hacking community, they've got all the google apps on it and such and blah, just like the nook color does
