I'm looking for a text reader *plugin* for a custom firmware, so I can access text files (usually faqs & memos) halfway during game. A simple edit mode is decidedly a plus, but not necessary.

Preferably going with PSX games and PSP games, but either or would be welcome. Anyone know of one?

    For PSX:
Guide to Creating Your Own Manual

While you're in the game, press "Home" & go to "Manual" line to see your converted text (document.dat)

I'm not sure there's a similar fonction for PSP games...

CWCheat has a text reader accessible in both PSP and PSP games, and as the Yummy suggests if you make a document.dat file for your PSX games you can access it via the View Software Manual option on the Home menu.

Thanks, it works - but only somewhat.

A more elegant solution (such as changeable word wrap and actual directory browsing) would still be appreciated.

If you use Linebreaker to correctly format your text files it's much better. Oh and you can view multiple text files by correctly naming them and jumping between them with the L/R shoulder buttons.

(and obviously i meant PSX and PSP earlier [IMG] )

If you use CWCheat, be sure to save your files in UNIX format.
