thats right, I'm just saying some things and you tell me if you remember anything that might fit
(basically, it can be nds, nes or gb/c)

I kinda feel like Jump N Run right now, played too much rpg and tactic rpg so I need something more classic

Preferably 2d sidescrolling
I'd like to be able to punch people... if you cant punch, swords would be ok too
I kinda want my game to have jump kicks too, those are cool
I want to run while holding the B button
Double Jumps are optional
Ability Upgrades would be fun, but don't have to be there
No Mario please
Also no Castlevania, finished those already
Can be Japanese, but only if theres not much story

Thats all, can you help me please?

Try Spider-man: Web of Shadows and X-men: Origins.

Check out Penguin no Mondai: Saikyou Penguin Densetsu! and its sequel, Penguin no Mondai: Tenkuu no Senshi
They're in Japanese, but from what I've played it doesn't really matter.

(Nes)
Double Dragon Series
Friday The 13th
Kungfu
Monster Party
River City Ransom
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Series
YoNoid
Zelda 2
Kirby
Ninja Gaiden Series

If you can do GBA,

Comix Zone
Ninja Cop
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1/2
Blackthorne (no punching/kicking but you can run and gun)
Anything batman (Begins/Vengence/Rise of Sin Tzu)
Justice League Heros - The Flash (super fast running and punching)

NES:
Kung-Fu
Batman?

1st off, 2D or 3D where "Jumping" plays a big part in the game is called a Platformer.

If you like, I can give you a link to a custom-made level designed by me if you feel like playing one more level on New Super Mario Bros. Right now, I only have 25% of the whole level, but it is made up of one complete screen, and includes 3 Star Coins, A start, and an exit. In a speed run, you can finish it less than 100 seconds. But if you want to find the secret entrance to another area (Area currently being developed but the way to get to it is a brainteaser) and collect all 3 star coins, you're going to have to explore the entire screen, preferably without cheats. Its not "Visually satsisfying" like a Nintendo level, but I did manage to make a thinking based level while keeping the potential of getting "Stuck" only happens once or twice (Big Mushrooms destroy essential things.

ANYWAYS, if that doesn't interest you, fortunately I have some platforming under my belt. so I can give you other titles than dated NES games :/

I'm going to list platformers for the hell of it. I'm disregarding your list.

"I'd like to be able to punch people... if you cant punch, swords would be ok too
I kinda want my game to have jump kicks too, those are cool" is a fucking dated design, so you're not going to find such a thing unless you're only interested in emulated games. So I'm taking what you want and throwing it out, and just going to go ahead and list a few platformers that are worth a brief look.
GBA:

Ninja-5-0.
Any Metroid.
Klonoa 1 and 2 (IMO, Must Haves)

NDS:

Legend of Starfy (For some reason some people love this game, Its pretty boring to me)
Henry Hatsworth and the Puzzling Adventure.
Prince of Persia (The one with ugly artwork.newer one)
Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure
Super Princess Peach
Viewtiful Joe
Yoshi's Island 2
Giana Sisters DS
Yatterman DS 1&2
Koisuru Purin Koi wa Daibouken Dr Kanmi no Yabou

And if you love recycled crap, Any Megaman on GBA or DS with "Z" in the title.

What gamer in their right mind would suggest a game by Pizzahut?
Even when I was 4 years old, I remember how awful that game was.

Surprised no one mentioned Legend of Kage 2, it's 2d, all running, jumping, using a katana and throwing shurikens, also collecting orbs to give yourself special powers and racking up big combos.

I didn't mention N+ or Legend of Kage because #1 N+ is a crappy DS game, even though its a great flash game. So I thought it wasntt appropriate. #2 Legend of Kage sucked. Thats a fact. This isn't open for discussion.

i think i'll go for legend of kage, pretty sure I played the original on the nes some decades ago
