very possible that background graphic for saving (sys_save0?.afa) and few more (sys_pop_29,30).
I don't know file format but I guess we can restore original ones to fix it.

messed a bit with graphics... there's combo in afa files, pallete, tiles, and map all together 3 in 1.
"Save" and "Load" captions for saving screen are translated now in v1.2a

today I tried with pop up messages, I guess this font (calibri) is similar to the one used before by author of this patch
How it looks? These things seems to be important in overall usage, look and feel.

translated buttons "Save Data" and "LodeRunner", "Championship LodeRunner"
I think this is enough to improve this patch from my side. All the changes are in v1.2b patch

maybe I should make the same caption for the "Load" and "Save" screen?

- other main captions for Options, Stage Secect, etc

- in-window "back" (start) instead of japanese 戻る sign
