Hello
I registered here because I'm getting a wiiu soon and need to oboe how to run homebrew etc

I followed this tutorial exactly
wiiu hacks guide

I'm not seeing load line anywhere
I downloaded loadline from the link you posted.
However it doesn't seem to say where to place the files.
(as you can see from the tutorial I've used) the zip contains a wiiu/app folder structure which when extracted to the root of the sd card I'm preparing, automatically merges into the proper folder structure.

This loadline link you posted, doesn't seem to mention where to install?

Other queries

1. I'm only using an android tablet. I'm not seeing any way to format specifically to fat 32.
All the format tools I've seen just format /erase the card but give no options such as fat32 or disk allocation size.
Am I going to run into problems?

2. Do I need the gamepad or will the pro controller suffice?

3. I have some "loadline" games (which contain 3 folders) does that mean loadline MUST be used?

4. Where do I need to place the game folders?

Thanks looking forward to your replies

I will keep this short and sweet. Loadiine is hideously out of date and suffers from not all games working and some games have terrible load times plus yoi cant play online ect ect. You should use the terribly named Brazilian method to load your games.

You will need the game pad for setting up the wiiu as you cant enter system settings without the wiiu gamepad. You wont be able to set up a Internet connection without it so thus it will be impossible to run the browser hax needed to use cfw like haxchi or mocha.

Ill check it out thanks
I wish you could just download a prepared sd card?
Would be so much less stress.

man, i remember when the brazilian method first came out and people wondering if it was fake etc
and was the start of the whole wiiu revolution with fake tickets etc
good ol times.
love the scenes at the beginning of a breakthrough moment

Still stuck here.
Followed a guide (which I'm not allowed to link to)
At wiiu hacks guide.

I've got homebrew going and haxchi.
But I can't use either my 320gb kesu hard drive or thumb drives
If I put them in the wii u it needs to format them.
If I put them into the pc (to transfer games onto)
The pc needs to format them

Rinse and repeat, neither one will recognise the other. I used gui format with an allocation size of 32000 on my pc. Now shouldn't that just work with the wiiu? What the f am I missing?
Maybe I download games directly onto the wiiu?
I think load line is out of date? Although it mentions using sd cards?

I haven't got a clue what to do next

The WiiU uses its own proprietary format for HDDs that cant be read by a pc.

1. Plug your HDD into the wiiu and switch it on.

2. Follow on screen prompt to format the HDD

3. On a pc download usb download helper

4. Start usb download helper and use it to download whatever games you want.

5. Once games have finished downloading copy them to your wiiu sd card.

6. Put the sd card back in the wiiu.

7.start wiiu and launch homebrew browser

8. Launch wup installer gx2

9. Follow on screen instructions to install your games.

Hmm wii u usb helper has a error on my 64 bit windows pc

Says " I am very sorry but the installer encountered a critical error"

It says there's an alternative version, but that link doesn't load. Something about administration privileges. It can't mean on the pc, as I'm logged in as the admin.
.

Did you also install the launcher for usb download helper? You need this for it to work. Here is the link provided by my good friend @alexander1970

Hi.
Sorry for being a bother .
But I downloaded the Launcher and winrar automatically extracted into downloads /usbhelperlauncher-0.17c

What do I do with this? Because I came across two USB helpers (neither worked). One was supposedly a replacement for a discontinued one.
I took a guess and dropped the installer for that in the above folder. I guess it still didn't work.

No fresh experience with windows. It's been android tablets for the last few years anyways thanks for your help appreciate it

Hmm not sure what is going on then sorry. Maybe @alexander1970 can pop in and help.

All I can say is I just got a new laptop a few days ago and installed usb helper and the launcher and it works perfectly.

Which USB installer did you use?
I extracted the Launcher into a file and popped version 1.2 usb helper installer.exe into the same folder.

I ran the installer. Left the default option on. It proceeded to download stuff then I ran the Launcher and some injecter popped up. Then I got an error "wii u usb helper has stopped working"

https://hastebin.com/zehijovamu
crashlog above

Can't think why? Is it win 7 64 bit compatible?

.

I can only give you the Advice to NOT install it on the C: Drive.
I have no Idea why,but it never worked for me under Windows 7.
Also you need Java enabled/installed with Windows 7.
Actual I no longer use an Windows 7 PC.:(

For Windows 10 x64 I have downloaded the Installer(s) from archive.org and installed Version 0.6.1.653.
It works on the first try.
Updated it actual to the latest v0.17c
https://github.com/FailedShack/USBHelperLauncher/releases/tag/0.17c

The Helper still works (the Content is getting less and less...).

Sorry to can not give you more Help on this, but as i said, with Windows 10 Pro x64 it works from the Beginning.

Good Luck and
Thank you.:)

i'm trying it on the d: drive.

i notice you say it works on windows 10 64 bit with no problem. if thats the case. i'll look into creating a partition just for windows 10. as I am not a fan of this operating system : p
also i will get java.

i'm curious if there's an android version you say the content is getting less? presumably when there is no content left, it's impossible to transfer games previously downloaded onto a wiiu hard drive?

anyone know what steps are available to me if thats the case?

Excuse me,I was a little unprecise.
Content is enough there, but mainly "Shovelware".....:(
And as you surely know 3DS Content is "locked out" now.

Thank you.:)

Both are good enough.

This file format is interesting for cemu users. Loadiine is very outdated and doesn't work on the latest firmware iirc.

4. Where do I need to place the game folders?
Delete them from your card and install the games directly to your wii u. This should do the trick.

Would you mind explaining to a noob how to install directly to my wiiu. As I already got ahhd connected to it. I just hope it doesn't involve the usbhelper

ok i installed that infernal windows 10 and now i got the app running, hate this os though, seems to be a permanent lag everywhere, scrolling up and down on a webpage, typing anywhere. its absolutely atrocious just how i remember it.

btw noticed this app doesnt have mario kart 10. but i can get that from nus grabber.
i have the ticket here for it, so where will i place tickets in the sd card?
