Don't buy SXOS.. Atmosphere and ReiNX are free and can do mostly like SXOS but since you want an External HDD... Maybe you can wait much longer for developers to add an External HDD someday. Why do you need it so badly anyway ?

I always installed my games from SD CARD and save lots of games on External HDD safe and put it away. That's all.

Buy larger SD Card than.

And atmosphere is a better one. And it's free. ReiNX is the same as Atmosphere but copy to atmosphere. So go with atmosphere, thought.

Then you are better off waste your money and buy SXOS (which is not really necessarily). I don't mind swamp my SD Card every time. It doesn't bother me. And be aware that SXOS will be no more in the near future, you never know. Sine atmosphere is getting better and better and SXOS is going to decline in the near future, I would bet you on it.

with SXOS is the hdd loading seamless and easy? or does it have bugs and such that arent worth paying for it? also can you load nsp and xci from hdd?
i use sx os for mounting and running xci from hdd without need to install.
it’s so quick and easy to check out stuff
any that i like i go and buy and make a nsp backup to install to sd

I wouldn't recommend loading games off the external HDD. Slowest load times compared to loading XCI off of U1 SD cards. Better off using the HDD to install the games to the nand or SD. SXOS and ReiNX are very good CFW. Using Tinfoil will be able to install your games from HDD as well

this sounds like OP is trying to advertise TX SXOS, rather blatently that is.. also I wonder how one could possibly need ~770gb of pirated games. (that would be ~65 games á 12gb or ~190 4gb games) how does one possibly find the time to play that?

Is it wrong to advertise SXOS?

im not advertising anything. I am strictly asking questions. If i was advertising would i really ask if SXOS was even worth it? i dont think so.

Just trying to find the best way to load games thats all. I am a collector so yes I have alot of games. I like to play a vast variety

If you have a problem with it then stay off my post. not looking for problems

Calm down.

SXOS is a decent little CFW. It's got pros and cons. If external loading is that important to you, go for it.

If you do get it though, make sure you ask for the support in the right places. I got banned from a discord server twice for just mentioning it.

Any recommendations you could PM me for help with sxos? Never used it so I’m sure I will be confused on it lol

I’ve seen people complain about loading times when loading from hdd. Is this really an issue?

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
