You need to install HBC to be able to use GeckOS, and that way you will be able to load games from any region originals or DVD backups (cause you have a ModChip installed)....!!

Not really, you can run Brawl, load stacksmash and then load Loadmii, which you can switch out your Brawl disc and put in another region and load Gecko OS. But in reality, yeah your right lol

there are no region free hacks for 4.2 firmware

The REAL homebrew devs, the ones releasing the exploits making it happen etc. (Team Twiizers, Comex...) are all against piracy.

Homebrew =/= warez. Homebrew is not designed for warez. It is hijacked by people wanting to be made famous who make warez apps, which the true devs could make in a day, and everyone worships them.

downgrade = fail

Never downgrade a Wii. It can only end in tears. You can do anything on a 4.2 wii that you can do on a 4.1 or 3.2 wii. FACT.

disc channel seems to be more picky about what it will load, but you don't need to use it.

Japanese Wii & Pal games, which on 4.2 won't load in disc channel. You need something like geckos.

Chances are you'd brick. If your boot2 is now boot2v4, your done. Seriously.

Stop downgrading, there is never any reason to downgrade atm unless you have a modchip.

If need to downgrade, you fucked it up yourself and you actually dont need to downgrade. (Modchips excluded)

sort of wishing i stayed at 3.2e now just because i know how it works ;( its just region free wii games in disc channel missing really. loader chans will do i suppose

Yeah, you can downgrade but its not generally recommended (4.1 is actually better if you like imports and themes generally) since it has all the features of previous versions + no real risk of bricking your Wii and more.

To downgrade you need to following assessment:

Are you boot2v4? If you are, you need to make sure you don't get anything before 3.4U in terms of IOS's or system menu.

Then, you need a functioning system menu IOS for the system menu you want and the system menu WAD and install both.

Make sure you do not get the latest version as it is a stub and will unless you have bootmii as a boot2 brick your Wii.

if i wanted to downgrade to 4.1e would i just use the two wads downloaded with NUS? and then recover the rest of my stuff from there if anything is missing / doesn't work? or just use waninkoko's 4.1e 'updater'? much obliged for your time good sir.

While I Cant run the Original Pal GH: Metallica and World Tour cds, I Can run the burnt wii sport and mario kart cds...

This is wrong. You cannot run any burnt CDs. Burnt DVDs perhaps, but not CDs. They are not the same thing.

Anyway, my suggestion is BUY your games, they work so much easier, much less hassle. Use homebrew as it was intended, for hobbyist coders to make useful games and apps, not for warez.

IQ is based on an Ordinal scale. There is differences in magnitude between points, but that difference isn't directly quantified. You cannot say that a person with an IQ of 200 is twice as smart as somebody with the IQ of 100.

Now even if the OP was retarded, having an IQ at around 80 (100 is an average person's IQ), 80*3=240. An IQ of 240 is ridiculous and unheard of.
Therefore your statement is invalid and completely absurd.

And you might also want to check your grammar before you start making claims about people with low IQs.

but my advice to the OP, the only downgrade that should be done is 4.2 to 4.1

just install v6174 of IOS60
then install the 4.1 system menu.

4.1 is the optimal firmware
It has region free capabitities, the only thing 4.2 doesn't
