No Gamestop around? Because I am 99% sure that it is 3.0.0. But since I do not have the game myself I can not verify.
In my country there is no gamestop and an gonna import it so i have to make sure
I think am gonna wait tell someone have it to confirm 3.0 update

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Get pokken tournament dx it has 3.0.0 Update in cart
I can get lego world for less money u know

Honestly I think discussion about firmware versions should usually stay in the hacking topic. Literally all it pertains to is the small section of users who want free games (or totally just want to tinker with it instead of buying a Pi or Android phone) and otherwise it's rather annoying - like a weird cousin that comes up to you every family reunion and asks if you have any meth.
If you have to import every single game you want you may start consider getting them for free man
The system itself cost me 460$ !

:P that is a really weird but funny comparison!

3.0.0 update only on Pokken Tournament DX Cartridge?

Probably not, but that is the only one I have 100% confirmation from.

Who knows the firmware version for Just Dance 2018?

Probably 3.0.2 if not 4.0.0 based on the release date. Safe to say it is not playable on 3.0.0.

Just an FYI: Nintendo bumped the minimum system version in some of their games' updates. For example, Splatoon 2 version 1.4.0 had a minimum requirement of 3.0.2, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe version 1.3.0 has a minimum of 4.0.0.

This shouldn't be much of a concern since you need a recent firmware in order to update your game, but it might be something to keep note of.

True! But if you buy a game from the store (so not E-shop) and decide not to update then you can at least see what game you can play on 3.0.0.
Zelda BOTW sure as hell will be updated when the new DLC will come in. :tpi:

Just a quick suggestion: add the info if additional downloads will be required to play the game/parts of the game. Otherwise later ppl might get a game that could theoreticly played on the fw but cant sice it requires a dowload to run anyway (thinking la noir)

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
