Misc Linux SoftAP bridge

has anyone got this to work with their nintendo ds.
im running backtrack 3, and have been trying for the past few hours to get my DS to associate with my Soft AP and i always get error 51099. (i know what it is)

so far this is the code im running to get my AP up and bridged

wlanconfig ath0 destroy
wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode ap
iwconfig ath0 essid test
iwpriv ath0 wds 1

ifconfig eth0 0.0.0.0 up
ifconfig ath0 0.0.0.0 up

brctl addbr br0
brctl addif br0 eth0
brctl addif br0 ath0

ifconfig br0 10.0.0.10 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
dhclient ath0

ive tested pinging the router, and other devices on the network, and it works.
and also pinged bbc.co.uk and that worked too.

i was able to connect to the internet with another computer using windows xp but my nintendo ds wont connect with it, even when it is unsecured. (error code 51099)

So yeh...it would be really great if someone could shed some light on what im doing wrong or another solution that doesnt require buying a DS wifi connector
