Go for it, i was a lil worried also but i said the hell with it. After doing alot of digging around the only realy way to brick the wii when soft-moding it is a power outage. and the files that would only change would take a few seconds to do. If you can install bootmii as a boot2 you would be in the best world. my new wii can't do a boot 2.
when you hears storys about people bricking there wiis its usally there own fault, by applying custom skins, deleting wads, and just screwing with the files.
I'm a noobie with wii's. gee last week was the fist time i ever picked up a wii remote. and seen one being played.

I won't but that was an interesting post count lol.

To anyone unsure about hacking there wiis. Do it. Trust me the chance of bricking are extremely slim. as was stated earlier hundreds of Wiis have been hacked using the instructions from the modmii tool and no one that has used it has come back to us saying I bricked doing what modmii said to do. If you can follow instructions and don't try doing anything stupid like uninstalling an IOS or something which will never be advised by moddmii you will be golden. Just make sure you don't have any worry about loosing power and you should not have a worry about hacking your wii.
