if you have no menu, and you took it straight from the zip/rar file, check the mplayer folder, looking at mine i have no font folder, which i discovered was in the zip file if i saved it too my desktop!

edit. i think this is because i dragged it straight from the zip file and zip files cannot read folders :S

Okay, I got it working with Furuba, and you have to put it in the go to the DVD option and the first one. But mine freezes at the FBI Warning. I select Title One, the it freezes.

It came out full-screen though instead of widescreen I think...?

For some people who get it loaded but don't have a menu, try hitting '1' on your wii remote. This brings up the menu if you have taken it off by accident. Also make sure all the files are there.

STEP BY STEP for dummies.

Have the homebrew channel installed

Extract the WHOLE Di folder to /APPS/
Rename /APPS/di/installer.dol to boot.dol
load it on the homebrew channel and say 'normal install' (for unmodded wiis)
Now you can delete /APPS/di
Extract the WHOLE mplayer folder to /APPS/
Put your dvd into your wii
Load mplayer from the Homebrew Channel
Hit DVD Video / Play DVD

This works EXCELLENTLY for TVShow Dvds, where every scene is an episode.

For all those wondering if this will kill your wii laser.....

I’ll leave to Erant to explain why, but as far as I know the idea that playing a DVD is harmful in any way to a drive is a myth.

If you got a modchip or Homebrew channel and a card reader, you are not a dummy. XD

Hey we use DVD-R for copied games, it shouldn't hurt.

Next by bushing: Blu-ray and HD-DVD player.
After that: Play XBOX 360 on your Wii!

Man he amazing though.

Actually playing a Wii game (burned or original copy) is completely different from playing a DVD Video (burned or original)

anybody with a modchip managed to play DVD yet? i cannot make the mplay play DVD

You have to download the Patchmii_core installer, mplayer, and libdi.
Run libdi and select the second one (Modchip Installer)

Then you are off!

tried all of them but still no hope. This what i done:

- install patchmii
- install libdi with patchmii option
- run mplayer and select both plath dvd and play dvd (libdvdnav)

the disc stop after some spins. When i hit reset on the wii, there are some text like:

.......
Can't open the /dev/di for reading
......

tried both..

May be i will try to downgrade to 3.2 first, i'm on 3.3 now..

Updated:
3.2 now and also no use...

Store bought DVD playback = Check

Burned DVD playback = Check

Burned Dual layer DVD playback = Nope

EDIT: US Wii with latest updates and no modchip.

Well I just went where it said play title # 1 and it worked fine for me it wouldn't actually play the DVD when I went to (libdvdnav) it just showed the menu screen.

What if I´m stubborn and want to try playing DVDs in my modded console without patchmii and with the "normal" libdi?
If I´m unsuccessful, can I just install patchmii and then libdi "modchip" over the previous install with no side effects?
