Tbh I have thought about the fact that LGBT has BLT in it more than a few times - and even flirted with the name GBLT

In the end I decided GOLBAT was the superior acronym

Gay
Omni
Lesbian
Bi
Asexual
Trans
Isn't Omni the same as Bi?

Omni is actually closer to pan than anything. In fact they are really similar. But there is a difference:

Pansexuals can be called "gender-blind", they do not see or think about gender, they only are attracted to the person.

Omnisexuals, however, notice the person's gender, they recognise it and are attracted to ALL genders. "

In other words, omnisexuals are attracted to all genders, but not REGARDLESS of gender. Gender can still be a factor in their attraction, unlike true pansexuals, who don't care about gender.

Is it because no one wants guacamole in their sandwich? Personally I'd be fine with just a Great BLT =w=
I would even take a good BLT

Or make it a BLT with rainbow colored mayonnaise owo

NO did you not read @x65943 post above mine Bi and Omni are different.

Bi attracted to cis male and cis females.

Omni attracted to all genders.
Do we have the point or something to look at to see where the historical swap or delineation occurred? The main point of contention usually being that if someone in the 80s had said to me they were bisexual you not have assumed they excluded transgender folks from their hookups and romances on that basis alone, and in the general parlance you probably still wouldn't.
Similarly is exclusion of transexuals a popular or otherwise notable component within it all? Assuming a given person is not doing the self loathing bit then I can't say I have ever met it (though bisexuality as a general concept is also a fairly small part of a small fraction of the population, and the interaction of transgender folks with that is smaller still, though somewhat disproportional to random interactions for obvious reasons). As a general function of graph theory based on attributes a person can have then you can make such definitions and not have them be synonyms but to most it seems like a solution in search of a problem, or a frivolity that serves no great point and only serves to confuse matters. Said people that were around and doing stuff in the 80s and earlier also still seem to use the terms as they were defined then, should one then attempt to "correct" a definition* (it is even one based possibly on maths, not some imagined offence, possibly regionally restricted at that, like the "don't call them homosexuals" stuff we once spoke about, or even more fun the t****** one)?
Sure you get the occasional terf and similar but that is a different matter, though one you might be able to draw parallels to as you contemplate said graph theory.

*for the sake of building a scenario someone covering old conquests or something, casual enough that one might interrupt for a flammable/inflammable confusion type thing. Scenario 2. Questions and answers after a story in their own words.

As for the subject of the thread then the clueless advertisers, and some pushing their buttons, have got it into their heads that the kids are super down with such matters and thus by making token gestures and fumbling with such concepts they can up their brand appeal. Generally those that care seem to see it as pandering (being a try-hard is seldom a good look), those that oppose such things again see it as pandering (though in this case to an undesirable class), those that truly care about such things probably would never buy their shit anyway (and usually find some other reason to be offended).
