I would just relax and grab 1 tb Express gamestop micro sd on lauch day then later grab 1 TB Express lexar pro micro sd when its available. I just ordered 2 TB Extreme micro sd for PlayStation 2 on FreeMCBoot Memory Card.

The only reason I can think of is that on my OLED Switch, most of my games are digital, about 80-90% of my game library. I did purchase an 256GB mSD Express card that is ready for my Switch 2 pre-order, but with my game library being mostly digital, I thought I should go with a larger mSD express card...

I'm not in the US so I can't really comment on Gamestop branded stuff. In your situation with mostly digital games I would certainly not be wasting my time with 256GB cards though. There's no need to pre-order either, you can fit enough games on internal storage to get you by until decent 1TB cards become available.

Thank you for the info! How much is the internal storage in the Switch 2? Do you think I should cancel the gamestop card?

Should I cancel the gamestop msd card pre-order? I just talked with them on the phone and they said that since I used paypal for the pre order, they would process order about 2 weeks before item release. Thing is, I won't have the money in my Bank Account until the 30th of this month. Help appreciated :)

Hi again guys. I cancelled the gamestop 1tb msd express card, but I do have a 256 msd express card that I already received (Sandisk). Hopefully that will hold me over, combined with the Switch 2 internal storage until more msd express cards become more available, and hopefully cheaper. I really hope they become more available... Thoughts appreciated :)

Probably good to get one and format it so it’s setup for later. Who knows if you’ll have to activate with Nintendo to get it recognized.

Through a PC/Laptop? These Express SD Cards are brand new so that means most don't have one.

I'm guessing there'll be some who will confuse Express with Extreme.

No, I was going to get one (express sd) and stick it in the switch 2, let it format or activate whatever it needs to do. The 256GB Mario branded one seems cheapest for its size.

anyone know where to buy the 1 tb express sd , i usually buy on amazon but here is always out of stock , thanks

U.S. or U.K.? Either way, out of stock.

Even GS 1TB Express SD Card for $180 is OoS (Lexar is $200).

I'm getting the "basic" 256GB Express SD Card by Samsung, but that should be more than plenty as I'll only play selected games (a few third party while mostly Nintendo).

Considering GameStop's track record when it comes to their branded peripherals, hard pass on that MicroSD Express.
I reckon there'll be people who will confuse Express with Extreme as the two are similar.

As if it wasn't bad enough the GKCs/CIBs, that could be another issue by confused customers.

prefer get a 1 tb one also because most games will be in that shitty game key card and would require a lot of space , hopefully someone know other sites for buy one since amazon every time i check has them out of stock

Yeah, I know 256GB (or 512GB with the internal) might not seem too much, but personally I'll be avoiding Game Key Cards and Code in Boxes so Switch 2 will be for specific games for me.

Hi again guys. Has anyone heard anything on if Gamestop will restock the 1TB mSD Express cards? Its been out of stock for a while now. Wondering same thing for Amazon (Lexar brand). I currently have a 512GB card in my S2, but both card and internal storage is quickly filling up, mostly with my Switch 1 digital games. Thoughts and help appreciated :)

Why don't you ask GS?

I guess you can connect an external SSD, but that's not very convenient as the NS2 is meant to play portable.

I did contact them, but no response yet by email support. I do have another question though, is it better to have more free space on the micro sd card, or on the internal system storage? Are game saves still stored on internal? Help appreciated :)
