Let me tell you something. Just because you save money doesn't mean all that money falls from the sky, into your lap.

Lets say you get 1 DS ($130) 1 Acekard 2 ($25) and one 2GB microSD ($10) That comes to a total of $160. Now, your friend gets a DS ($130) a cycloDS Evo ($55) and a 2GB microSD ($10). comes to $195

Who saved more money?!?!?! YOU DID. Now you can save that money or spend it on a Slot-2 3-in-one.

Lets break this down even more simpler.

50 > 25

50 is bigger than 25

Also, say you don't need RTS and slow-mo. Would you still buy something more expensive?

your income does not allow you to justify piracy. gaming is a luxury. money should go to basics. if you can afford gaming then do it.

What does that have to do with this thread?

people in this thread are saying that not having enough money should allow them the ability to illegally download games.

for example, just because someone is a struggling college student does not allow them to pirate games.

Yes, even if you are poor, you are not above the law.

I guess I must have missed the threads that said that. Everyone who pirates knows it "isnt okay"

you've read the first page right?

Yes you do, you buy all your games at once if they are only $20-$50.
You are telling me you made a down payment on your flashcart and payed it off via lones and all those contracts you use to buy a house with?

Who the hell buys all their games at once?
You telling me you bought all your console games when the console came out?
Thats just plain dumb seeing as all the games come out gradually. Good games didn't start coming out for th eps2 till 5 years into its life.
And don't give me any bullshit about loans and contracts. The fact is, these people don't have all that money.
Even though you're complaining about people wanting the cheapest flash card, you keep forgetting that there are many other costs involved.
Sure, the flashcard is advertised as $20-$50 but don't you have to buy a microSD with it?
Don't you need to pay shipping?

I bought an EZIV slot 2 and an SCDS1. All together they're $70 yet I ended up paying $170 in the end because of the memorycards and shipping.

QUOTE(Warren_303 @ Aug 6 2008, 12:18 AM) I agree and hope those cheap asses will stop saying that some flash carts are too expensive. I've had the exact same thought in my head but never decided to do anything about it. Reason is because most of these whiners are not going to read anything like your post. They will just ask about the best cart with the cheapest price in a new thread.

It will never end, not here, not anywhere, good try though.

sigh....

These cheap asses are kids or students with extemely tight budgets.
You obviously never had anything to worry about money-wise so I don't expect you to understand.

I reject your appeal to whatever arbitrary moral authority you dreamt up. Now what?

well its my opinion. i don't really feel the need to right IMO or anything like that.

im not sure how the idea that "piracy is not justified" is something i just imagined up.

edit: whoops i thought there was a merging filter.

Apparently the guy who bought the acekard considering the guy who bought the cyclo apparently was a retard and somehow spent 1955 bucks.

TBH I Agree with Golden if you want summin don't bitch and save.. if you do want the cheaper cart.. read a review and buy it and not waste every1s time with the same question.. i paid £35 for my M3DS Real with the GBA Expansion... around $60-$65... you know what I done?? i saved.. i even saved the £100 for the DS Lite.. $160-$170.. but guess what i have no job or much steady income but i dont moan about it i get on with what i do and get tired of explanations on being poor etc. etc. if you really are poor then this is what i say... TOUGH S*** get on with it like evry1 else does...

lol opps. fix'd

dude acutally i would rather get a supercard ds one for $30 instead of the cyclo ds $50 becuse i don't play games 24/7, nintendo sucks at making games (where's mario kart 2?), i am starting to get bored of flashcarts and videogames, i got 12 ds games just sitting there and have a 4gb microsd fulled with games

I know I pirate becasue i don't have a job and even though my parents have the money they do not let me get any games. I got my gba the 1st christmas it was out. I had 6 of all the gba games and thats only because i got bomberman story when i 1st got it and the megaman bn games luckly came out on my b-day. Oh forgot I did have pokemon shappire. And I had my ds the june whenever megaman bn 5 came out and i got my r4 last january and between that time i had 1 ds game at a time because i had to trade in to get another. I had played roms cause i knew my parents never give me the money to buy them (even though i know they could) and when the ds came out i found out about flashcarts. I do they same thing with music and movies. My parents wont let me get a job and whenever i ask for something they give me their normal bullshit excuse......."Do you have [insert object your asking for] money" . But flashcarts are a little expensive in my opinoin seeing that i have no money......over i'd say 98 percent of my christmas money went to buying my r4 and then i had to have an SD card. Then my b-day came and i just got my ez flash. So it all depends what your situation your in as far as how expensive things are. My situation...my parents rarely spend money on me even though they could.

That doesn't make any sense The Supercard and the Cyclo DS both do the same thing.

Am I the only one thinking...

If we pirate games, we reduce the sales of games. Less sales, less budget for the developer. Cons right there.

But the huge pro is less crappy shovelware.

I'm probably not thinking straight, so excuse the lack of content and thought in this post

Commodore 64 games were pirated wholesale in the infancy of gaming and the industry ended up thriving, so I never bought that argument. It's like music execs saying they're on the verge of bankruptcy because of P2P.

I mostly agree with golden here, but it does depend on the situation. If the user only wants basic game-playing with no frills, then telling them to save up for the Cyclo makes little sense. On the other hand, if you want the extra features the Cyclo provides, then there's no reason to sacrifice that for the sake of a $30 price difference. It's the people that say they want the extra features but still have price as a major factor that annoy me, because like golden said, you're getting what is essentially the equivalent of hundreds of dollars worth of games. It's silly to settle for something less than what you want when the price difference is less than the price of a single game.

The price of cards is for extra features and a better quality unit. Ya think spending 50 bucks for a CycloDS over a clone is not a wise investment from a quality standpoint? When the Super Card DS One came out it was the only slot 1 card on the market, the price was not exactly cheap and there were a boat load of flaws with it, the others that followed were both cheaper and better quality. The Super Card brand has never been cheap, I think my old Slot 2 SC miniSD cost me about 90 bucks with a 2 GB memory card, about 70 for my M3 Simply and 2 GB San Disk card. But the money you can save on a flash card can be put towards a better quality memory card as well, which might be some people's reasoning.

I'd rather spend more money on a reliable card than buy a cheaper flash card, having it break, then buying the more expensive one in the end. If you were recommended a budget card and it broke on you, then you have no right to come back to vent your anger on us.
