Prize Rebel seems to work fine for me, got NX cards for DFO, Microsoft points, Wii points. Had no real problems as of late.

That's not "generation" though, they're honest and flat-out say that they'll just going to buy you cards in exchange for the crap you do on the site, they don't like like these scams and claim they can "generate" points.

I saw a website a while ago that claimed they donated card codes that they actually bought, so that would be legit.

Same deal, not generating.

I never said it was "generation" I was merely answering the main question in the first post.

Well... as someone before me say it, go for Prize Rebel, i didn't use it since a year because there're more strict but it's the most legal way to get it, i've got a lot of Wii points back then (almost 25000) and $3000 on steam games, but be aware you need a looot of patience and many e-mail for junk (believe me one day i've got 1000 mails on my spam folder)

Its impossible..

Any code will work for EShop points, but at a store, you have to get the code on the card activated, through the card, before it becomes active. There is, on average a 20 minute time between a code's activation and its usage, even less if there is wifi nearby. You could generate a code, however, you have a 1 in 36^25 chance of getting a specific code and a 1/[Too large a number] chance of getting it and using it during that short window before the purchaser can use it.

So in theory, you could get free Eshop points, but you have less than a 1 in a billion chance.

Its basically Nintendo's anti-keygen system. for wii, i literally got a card which had a code of all zeros except for the last section.Any code is a points code, but it has to be activated on nintendo's server before you can use it.

Any game company does the same. You can go ahead and take a code card from a store, use the code, ect... but i can assure you it wont work until after purchase.

Thanks. But I more curious of the method and equipment that the shops use to get the information to Nintendo that they have sold a particular card.

The same thing is done for phone cards, it's not even a new type of technology. Hell, there's vending machines at my college that take credit cards, so technology like that is far from unique.

Considering this stuff involves the way that sensitive information is transmitted I doubt you'll find the exact methods nintendo and such use, but if you check up on how prepaid phone cards are activated at the register you can get the same sort of idea.
