Gaming Left trigger sometimes wont work on DSL

It's an old console from 2008. licking the left trigger used to work, but now it doesnt. It sometimes work but most of the time not. also the dpad needs a really hard press to trigger the button

The metal contact needs cleaned. The Dpad's silicone underneath might be ripped/broken.

You can blow a can of air in the crease underneath the trigger, but it is only temporary. The tarnish will eventually spread to where it will stop working completely.

I rebuild my old DSlite with parts from a broken one i got of eBay... if a clumsy moron like me can do it so can you
