Gaming Lead thingy for wired controller

Hi,

I've had a wired 360 controller sitting in my draw for ages, and I got it out today mulling over the possibilities of modding it to make a SF4 stick...

BUT

It seems I've lost the lead adapter part which goes between the controller itself and USB. Any ideas if I might be able to get a replacement? Or is there a lead extender or some such thing that might serve as a replacement?

Just argued over this with Microsoft customer services and they won't bloody sell me one of the spares they clearly must have, saying that as much as they'd like to help me my only option is to throw it in the bin and buy another.

Anyone any ideas to help me resurrect this perfectly fine controller?
