Since I took my switch out of the dock after letting it charge overnight my screen has been flickering around the edges with a few weird white lines on the screen. I was sacred as shit, but after ~20 minutes the flickering started to decrease. I've kept the screen on in a game and right now the flickering is almost gone. The annoying part is that my switch is 11 days out of warranty, and I'm worried it'll come back. Anyone else had anything similar to this, or knows what could be the cause?

Edit: This video is in slowmo, because I had to film it in 120fps otherwise you can't see it with a camera. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WRiawaljxNPXa-HlvYe2DpF1j2z42nSC/view?usp=drivesdk

Try what RyoX9 said, in fact everyone that have a Switch outside warranty should open it right away, clean it and put a proper thermal compound like Artic MX4 which reports as lasting at least 8 years in good condition.

As soon as you see too much dust you should open the device, grab the fan or remove it to clean it and shoot the cooler with a air can which you can buy on pc stores to clean it.

About the flicker, also while the console is ON try messing a bit with the LCD ribbon cable, sometimes it's that or it might be the backlight LEDs or backlight controller, at least on the CCFL LCDs era the inverter was mostly the faulty part that would cause flicker or dead backlight, nowadays it's probably a LED controller chip that boost the LEDs and control their frequency and brightness, but I'm not sure...

I would definitely agree with the top two posts. Overheating is definitely the cause. Make sure that your switch is not in a case or third party dock that could cause overheating. Also be sure to reapply thermal paste (I would recommend a CPU thermal paste such as Arctic Silver Ceramic 2 paste). Another way to circumvent the overheating, is making sure your switch is in a well ventilated area or next to an air conditioner.

There have been reports of dead pixels, random things on screen, etc. These are all related to the screen itself, so maybe replacing the screen is cheaper than buying a new switch? If it were me, I would try treating it for overheating. If this does not work though, then just deal with it. It is not worth buying a new switch until it is dead or completely dis-functional.

I agree with the end, don't buy a new Switch, try fixing and if you can use it until it dies...

But don't use artic ceramique 2, Artic MX4 is much better, I don't think it needs a cure time and claims that last 8 years which I think it really might. I had MX-3 for around 5 years at high temps and it still wasn't even close to be as bad as like the crap M$ had put on the Xbox360 4 example, it was still kinda soft...
