Is there a way to browse and launch homebrew wii games other than through the Homebrew channel?

For Retail games, you need to use a loader like Usb Loader GX, which requires the installations of some cIOS as well.

For Wads, you can either install them with a Wad Manager or create an Emunand, always on Usb Loader GX, and inject wads with the built-in Emunand Wad Manager.
