Launch PS3 - Max HDD Size?

I have a japanese Launch PS3 and im in the process of refurbishing it and need to buy a suitable drive for it.

I want to get a 2.5" SSD and go as big as possible... but how big is that?

Would love any help you can give me!

1TB is the highest compatible drive that doesn't give you any issue, if you use any larger size you would run into problem.

maybe a hdd 7200 rpm 1 TB would fit the best; but ssd is less warm so,it's as you want...!
