Has everyone noticed with the latest Switch 2 Update you get a standard screen you have to check 2 boxes and agree but one of them is collecting information over all your Nintendo devices. Is this a good idea if you do use hacked Nintendo consoles? What have other users choose to do? For the moment I’ve just been pressing B to go out but you still get a pop up notification on your screen that goes directly to the page and asks for you to confirm. Nintendo are obviously intent on you to confirm these 2 boxes and agree as this pop up notification happens regularly which looks a bit suspicious

I don’t use my hacked Switch 1’s anymore so I’m not worried about those but I do still use my hacked WiiU and Wii and 3DSXL consoles so I am a bit reserved agreeing the Information page on the Switch 2 and all these consoles are officially stamped on my online Nintendo account

Huh? When I updated my HorizonOS to 21, it was just the standard update flow (click "update" -> wait through a few loading screens -> wait until it reboots -> done).

There were no extra agreements.

I got the same screen and agreed to all data collection from Nintendo. I use the MigFlash on my Switch 2 all the time and it does not lead to a ban.

Usually you want to disable this kind of stuff, but as an example it is required for the Zelda Notes App to function properly. I guess the banable kind of data collection happens no matter what.

"Wanna get banned?"- Opt-in would be crazy :D

Hey, how long have you been using your mig switch for? And have you only been using the 1.2.2 update?

I have been using the MigFlash since the 1.2.0 update (14/06/2025) nearly on a daily basis. Right now it is running the 1.2.2 firmware since it came out of course.
Hmmm very interesting.. and you're on the latest switch 2 update?

And do you ever go online with it? Whether to update the games or to play them online
My Switch 2 is online 24/7 and i play online games as well. Right now Pokemon Z-A from the MigFlash with the "Switch 2 Edition" Patch from the eShop, but it is honestly not very good.

You get banned by playing public dumps from torrents or telegram groups, but private game backups or backups shared with a small number of people (4) are fine.

I don’t use the Mig on the Switch 2 but if you have agreed to it all and you’re using the Mig I suppose that sounds ok but I’m not sure at all this is brand new to me

This update has more to do with privacy protection and sharing data.

Regardless of what you do, the logs of what you do and play will always be registered, no matter what you want.
Yes this was my thoughts exactly it does look like it’s collecting logs and data but it’s concerning agreeing this for all over your Nintendo devices I mean we don’t know anything yet about the Switch 2 and confirmation of these agreements could lead to a ban wave on all your devices. This is the first time I have ever come across something like this with Nintendo pushing a standard agreement on the actual console, it also says you get great discounts if you agree to these terms..hmm sounds dodgy to me

Ah hell no I'm not identifying myself to play video games I already have to identify myself to go to a doctor which is why I don't go to doctors.

Yes I use my Switch 2 regularly online with Mario Kart World.. that’s concerning as well agreeing to it

It’s not about that I use my wiiu, wii and 3DSXL which are all registered on my official Nintendo account and are all hacked. Playing the Switch 2 legitimately and agreeing to it could lead to issues using the other devices. With Nintendos latest terms and conditions this could mean a new wave of banning for using hacked Nintendo consoles over all Nintendo devices, it’s a serious thought

One day you'll have to scan your driver's license and society security card to start a console I guess that's where we're headed. Or maybe we'll all be chipped and they can just read the information while we're playing.

I don’t think you understand what I am trying to achieve here, if you can’t contribute towards the thread civilly then don’t bother also you’ve been a member here only since 2021 what would you know anything about me on this site

You attacked me by telling me to "stop chatting shit and go away" just because you made the thread doesn't mean you can dictate exactly what someone says you're a control freak. In fact I'm not interacting with you any more piss off.

Data collection? Sony already did that, but at least it was during the set up process than a firmware update.

If only they'd add themes, guess that's too demanding for the Switch 1/2... 🤔
