We all knew it was coming, but now series creator Hideo Kojima has blown the lid off the forthcoming entry in his espionage franchise, Metal Gear Solid 5.

In the latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Kojima opens up on his plans for the "past, present, and future of Metal Gear Solid," which includes details on MGS5, as well as Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

Does MGS5 feature Solid Snake? Old Snake? An entirely new protagonist? You'll be able to find out what exactly Kojima has planned for Metal Gear Solid 5 when the magazine hits at the end of this month.

Peace Walker aka Metal Gear Solid 5 sold quite well in Japan where Japanese devs only care for.

I look forward to another game where Kojima desperately tries to piss off enough fans so that they will stop asking for more Metal Gear Solid.

if you want to tell a new story fine, if you want to keep it in the same continuity that's great, but when you ruin the best movie you've ever put the blueray simply by tying it by the little word of solid which should be dropped something is wrong.

I've never ever played any MGS game, only thing I know from the series is the cut-scenes are way too long.

And we'll see MGS5 in 2016, by this rate.

We still don't have MGS: Rising.

Speaking to Official PlayStation Magazine UK in an exclusive interview, Hideo Kojima has been talking about MGS 5. As well as his plans for the sequel and the MGS world in general he also talks to the magazine about the previous games and the mysterious Project Ogre. Here’s a teaser of what Koj has to say about the next Metal Gear Solid…

When asked about the sequel to MGS 4 the series’ creator replied “I think we’ll probably have to make it at some point, but what that will be, we have no idea”. Once again, though, Kojima is downplaying his involvement. “As far as my involvement in the project is concerned, [it] probably won’t be as much as it was with MGS1 – maybe I can do just one stage! For MGS1 I made the maps myself, laid out the enemy routes myself, did everything hands-on – that level I can’t do again.”

But that approach hasn’t worked before as he points out when talking about MGS4. “I intended to take it to a certain point and then hand it off, but that didn’t work, because it’s hard to convey the concept to other people then have them take the reins and carry on and preserve that vision.” His solution then is to not get involved at all. “That’s why it’s easier to have them come up with everything from the start and then take it to the end”.

The Kojima issue is out on the 29th of November and subs issues should be going out next week.
You can now get Official PlayStation Magazine UK on Apple Newsstand, either as a single issue or through a 3, 6 and 12 month subscriptions available. You can also get Official PlayStation Magazine UK on Zinio as well, so you are full covered for all your digital reading needs. And the paper edition’s also available in the shops and through a number of subscription offers.

Im glad he is, metal gear and solid snake is now one of the best known in games today. i know in 4 he is an old man, lets hope they find a cure and his nanomachines can make him young again, reverse the damage that has been done.... not sure what their going to do storyline wise. Theres always old enemys lurking around the corner!
