well the bad news is in, i just got my microsd from meritline and its a taiwan assembled.

I looked at http://wiki.gbatemp.net/index.php/Memory_S...ts#Kingston_1GB

it seems kind of surprising that the taiwan has the same read speed as the japanese assembled so why does one crash while the other does? If someone could shed some light i'd appreciate it.

also if anyone has tried to replace thier taiwan one for a japanese assembled one how did you do it? when i called kingston they said they'd ship me a new one but it would be the luck of the draw if i was going to get a japanese or taiwan one.

I believe its because Japanese made (which are Toshiba's OEM) Kingston card are built better for better performance in read and write speed. Also Kingston's Taiwanese cards are not made by Kingston they are built by some Taiwanese manufacturer which uses cheaper hardware material compared to their Japanese manufacturer counterpart. Kingston is just distributer in the memory cards not the manufacturer.
