Thing is Keto is not a DIET it's a life style, it's not supposed to be done just to lose the amount you want and then go back to eating carbs. Keto does work, for at least some people, me included. What I like about the Keto diet is that I actually UNDERSTAND what is going on by doing that. Going to a professional "nutrition specialist" that gives you an eating plan like a doctor gives you a list of meds never really helped me because I was never explained how it would change from all the hypocaloric diets I did in the past and never really worked. It personally works very well for me. Where I live there's an abundance of not expensive real cheese, meat is fairly priced if you know where to go so I gave it a try for that reason. I also have diabetes in my family so I guess it's wise to work on insulin early on... In the end, I'd say it works great, with little effort (I combine with intermittent fasting, on the OMAD kind) I never felt hungry or weak with keto, which is really what hypocaloric diets made me feel all the time. Also, there's a lot of recipes for stuff you might miss that don't contain carbs (I found awesome chocolate ice cream, pizza, peanut butter fudge cake recipes since I do have a sweet tooth) The only downside to it, is that you need to have a little free time to prepare meals, and thus be organized, there's not much "on the go" stuff you can have. Other good thing is that you can eat at most restaurants without a problem, as long as you order meat or fish with veggies you're covered, you don't need to give it more thought than that.
