Hacking Just how bad is the Flash reader bundled in?

Hey.

I was wondering a thing. I bought an expensive Class 6 microSDHC card and as I read on the review for cyclods I see that they recommend you not using the bundled reader. I don't have any other reader so I was wondering how bad it really is? How many have had problems with these of you?

I only tried it once (bought the CycloDS for a friend) and the reader looked pretty good and worked fine for me, but as i said i havn't tried it during a longer period.

I bought my CycloDSEvo and 6gigabyte MicroSdHc card from divineo.com, and it game with a sandisk usb reader, with an SD card to plug in, with the microsd card in that. It is the fastest usb drive I've ever used. IT takes less than 3 seconds from the time its inserted to the time i can have the windows explorer window open. I haven't had any problems, but I've only had mine for about a week, so. The Cyclo Reader does look a bit shinier, thinner, but the sandisk reader is fat and has a protective case, so I think I'm going to stick with it.

Horrible. I stopped using it after i found out my uSD card wouldnt fit into the slot.

Its not that bad... no reason to order another if it works.

It works for me and its tiny so I can keep it in my case for emergency ROM needs

It may be slower than most but I'm not sure as I have not ordered another. But again, you put files on and then your done for a long time unless you add a game here and there.

It works good for me. It's faster than the other one I use (a Rosewill using a regular SD adaptor.)

The only problem now seems to be with my computer's front USB ports. For some reason, the Cyclo adapter doesn't want to work on the front ports, so I have to crawl around back to use it, which isn't all that convenient. Any other USB device works fine though, so I'm thinking the connector on the Cyclo adapter doesn't stick out enough to make a proper connection.

I guess it also depends, because not all Cyclo tins have the same reader.
I've been using mine for two weeks and it was fine,
but just the other day, the words "Parameter is Incorrect" started showing up.
Soon enough, the computer couldn't even read the card anymore.

I remember the reader as warm when I took it off.
Maybe it burned the MicroSD card itself?

I have an A-Data 4GB Class 6 card, and the bundled USB reader works excellent for me. I'm running Vista if that's relevant for you.
