Gaming Just a question about Pkm HG/SS

I'm not sure if this has already been asked, and I think this is the right section, if not move to where ever, but:
Lets say I have Pokemon HG (J), with a translation patch. will the patch affect my save? can I just rename it so it will work on the US version of the game when it comes out?

yes. i believe any pokemon can

But i used Platinum (J) save on (U)
I just renamed

no one knows till the game comes out,Diamond/Pearl(to my knowing)was interchangeable jrom J to U,Platinum too

names from when you still used the patched rom will appear in a different font, that's usually the only thing.
this because pokemon has separate roman fonts for japanese and western versions(though they do include both fonts in all regions, only 1 of these can be used. this to support japanUS/EU trades)
