Hi! I wanted to ask: can I just use the metal part of the right joycon where the pins are? I soldered an old one (and I had to open it by force) and now I only use it to enter RCM. Since I intend to carry it around (I am on 4.0.1) can I disassemble it that way and only use the metal part? Actually I don't want to take the full joycon with me (space issue) just for the RCM.
Also happened to come by this recommendation from another member: https://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Ninten...-Assembly-with-Flex-Cable-Parts-/232705165763

I just want to confirm that the metal part works on its own before taking apart my old working right joycon.:switch:

Thanks for the tip mate! Could you also direct me to the page I can find this info please?
I didn't mean it's already in there but that questions like this should be posted as a post there rather than as a new thread but I'm glad that you got some help now. ;)

You sure can. BTW that's plastic not metal. Only the rails on the Switch are metal ;)
I wouldn't use 9 and 10 because when you don't have a JoyCon connected pin 9 can be unpredictable and might not always work.
7 and 10 or 1 and 10 are good.
But why not get or build a jig? They don't cost much.

You are right! Getting a jig is the way to go and I am thinking of ordering one once cfw is live!
