So, it worked before, all fine, backup and restore. No problem.

I updated JKSV via the homebrew app store and after that it did crash the switch. with Error Code 2168-0002 (0x4a8) Program 010000000000100d Firmware Atmo 9.10.5-master-b27c7552

I didn't do anything besides that, I googled the error code in combination with JKSV but I didn't get any results... going back to the old version of JSKV won't fix it for me, as this does crash now too.

what could cause this, and how can I fix this

Can you try using a game or demo to launch the homebrew menu instead of the album?

Hmm. The only things I can think to try are:
1. Reboot the system and see if that helps
2. Copy any saves you want and try deleting the JKSV folder.

If that doesn't help, I'll PM you if that's ok to get it straightened out. I find it weird it did that after the update, because I didn't really change much. I just pushed the Device saves icon earlier to make it closer to the top of the list.

Yeah, I did that. But it’s still crashing for some reason I can’t remember if I did anything besides jksv update. But unless I go insane it was only that.
is your sd card formatted exfat?
Yes, why?

Yes, why?
Exfat gets corrupted pretty easily with switch homebrew.

I know I know, yet it’s strange to me as this never happened before(I always could get back to where it’s working), and everything else works fine. Just jksv... I checked the sd on my pc to see if something’s wrong or not deleted correctly.

I had this problem when I started writing JKSV and used Exfat early on now that I think about it. I used to find save data written in weird parts of the nro, mostly the romfs section IIRC when Exfat got corrupted. It's been a long time. If you take the nro from your SD and the one from my git, it probably won't match.

I formatted to fat32, deleted JKSV, did a fresh install of atmosphere, deleted some other stuff and it's still not working, any ideas left for this? I got it to work for like 10-ish minutes, after that it did crash again, I didn't do anything special in case for it to work again.

I'll add logging again and get back to ya as soon as I can. I took it out early on and really shouldn't have.

I have the same problem. I tried to enter JKSV from SXOS 2.9.4 with firmware version 9.2.0.

First of all I tried from sxos with its homebrew (applet mode) and just the cfw crash. Well, now I tried holding "R" from some game and nothing, now the jksv screen is left in infinite black. Later I tried from another cfw, atmosphere I thought there must be some cfw compatibility problem but in atmosphere I was left on the black screen or just crash.

I also tried changing microsd, in two formats. fat32 and exfat and nothing.

Same

Ok guys. I just got done finishing off what I was working on. I'm gonna try my best to get a log going by tomorrow to get it straightened out. I'm gonna leave this here. I did change a few things, but I'm not sure it's gonna make a difference or not without knowing for 100% sure where it's crashing for you guys.

Most of these issues can be resolved without implementing logging by asking the user to send their crash log and then opening up your elf in ida.

if the user is crashing, there is a good chance the log won’t get Fully written to disk anyway.

If you formatted your sd properly there would be absolutely no files on your card.
It might be possible you didn't format correctly or that your card is counterfeit/on it's way out (yes even a brand new card can do this).
You can use this section of 3ds.guide to test your sd card to see if it's functioning/authentic.

I usually know what I do, the SD itself is working, other stuff that was corrupt was working again too, the formatting took a little over an hour since I didn’t do a quick format. It’s just jksv now left to not work for some reason.

(I even formatted 2 times, one quick from exfat to exfat, to clean up. And again with fat32 formatting tool.
