Hardware Japanese New 2DS LL release thread

It's out now in Japan according to the internet (as of July 13th JST).

So all you living-in-Japan, english-speaking tempers (all 3 of you) post about it here if you want. Did it have 11.4? Did you hack it? Do you like it? Is it posh?

Well I haven't actually seen a Japanese new2ds system pictured with 11.4 yet so still not confirmed 100%.
I realize there is an astronomically low chance the firm is something other than 11.4.

Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean its not confirmed. All new2ds has came with 11.4

For all we know, only the Australian and New Zealand New 2DS XL come with 11.4. The JPN, or for that matter also the US and EUR, can come with 11.5 if Nintendo wanted to. Its highly unlikely but yes.

I just got my white and orange one from DHL three hours ago!
Amazon.co.jp ships extremely fast. o_o
Haven't turned it on yet; I'm waiting for ntrboothax to come out. I want to try and dump the NAND before it's powered on.

Honestly, I have to say the white and orange looks much better in person than it does in pictures. I bought it simply because America wasn't getting it, but now I'm glad I did. I feel like the top screen is less of a smudge magnet because of it.

EDIT: Also, it didn't come with a charger in Japan. I feel gypped.

But then I'd have to power it on. I wanted to check the NAND for any factory remnants.

LOL - I can only assume they didn't think you could use it given your country of residence.
(but really, they just wanted to resell it to make extra $ )

Surprisingly, the Japanese chargers are actually rated to work with 100 to 120V AC; so because the plug is the same across both regions, you could actually use a Japanese charger on the American grid without issue. I know, because my Cobalt Blue Japanese 3DS came with a charger, and it didn't explode.

Also, the 2DS XL came in such a tiny box:

Actually, they're not the same.
Japanese ones are labeled WAP-002(JPN), while American chargers are labeled WAP-002(USA). Why the distinction, I have no idea.

They're multivoltage despite what the label says (to double dip on the savings of only having one circuit worldwide, and maybe ten extra original chargers sold to tourists)

Personal experience, used a (thinner cable = 2DS age or newer) EU charger in Japan

I'm in japan but I like my regular n3ds, I want to change my o3ds (EU) up to new 2ds though. so I won't buy on in japan but from europe. cause region.
