Hacking japanese DSi flashing

Would it be possible to buy a japanese DSi and flash the USA frimware to it? The reason I ask is because I want the white DSi but its not sold here in the USA.

Yeah the Japanese one would be region locked, but a simple flash of the US frimware would change that(right?).

Not sure, but anyway, DSi Flashing hasn't been invented yet!!

Well, what you could do is get a UK DSi and just wait for a way to flash them to come out. And I doubt the Euro DSi Store will get DSiWare much later than the US one.
