Hi all I have problem,

I think I updated my NTSC wii J to i think 2.5J. I downloaded mario galaxy, and was stupid forgot to update the machine and inserted the disc and updated it. Now it semi-bricked my wii. How do I fix it? Please help I'm in desperate need to fix it. Can I download any 3rd party and burn it as ISO to fix it or some how ? pleast help me!

The highest firmware is 2.2J so there's no way you have 2.5! But anyway if I remember correctly the updates on wii fit, and possibly ssbb Japanese versions will unbrick a semi-brick caused by SMG ^^

2.2J is the highest ? Pardon me, maybe i got your question wrongly. But i have 3.2J firmware on my Wii. =X

haha i think there's no 2.5J update in the first place? after 2.2J it jumps to 3.0J....

anyway yea... jpn versions of newer games like SSBB and MK contain updates that should unbrick it

If you're using wiikey 1.9s and turn on the no update block, would Okami still run? I'm thinking about running the retail NTSC-U on my NTSC-J system.

Sorry, I'm a newbie =X
Just want to ask.

I have Jap Wii and now I can't access the Setting Menu. Is it true that the 3 games that state in the first post can fix it?
If it does do I have to buy J Version or U Version? =X

TQ.

You just have to brickblock it if you are on 3.1J v2 or higher, exactly like it is so very clearly explained a couple of pages back.

If you want to be safe, just brickblock everything. It's that simple.

Yeah, i know that... it´s just strange, that a game like that has a update, or a channel...

Hey, i just download Trauma Center New Blood, and Ninja Reflex, both USA(I used brickblocker, and regionfrii)
Then i burnned, but when i play in my Wii(jap model) it´s all in japanese... what can i do to solve that? I tried to pass RegionFrii to USA, but it still apear in Jap...

Use WiiFrii. Be sure to thank waninkoko in his thread once you get it working.

I managed to get it working. This was what I did.

QUOTE(ashesburn @ Apr 18 2008, 05:34 PM) I'm able to play and add a Mario Kart Channel on my Wii-Jpn 3.1j Wiikey 1.9g.

I did the following steps, which I believe are the same as most the guys around.

1) Patch the unscrubbed ISO with JinVa's ppf 2.
2) Apply the Wii Update Remover
3) Use Wii Region Free (WiiFrii) 2.3b to make it NTSC-J compatible, and to force the language as english.
4) Burn the ISO with Nero and play!

Thanks for the wonderful patch JinVa!

If you need the ppf2, get it from here.

Reporting:

Octomania is working fine on my japanese Wii D2CKEY 3.2J.

First I burned the ISO itself. Its work until the menu... When I go to the menu, I have that messege: "The Wii cant read the disc, blablabla".

Then I burned another DVD using WBB and RegionFrii 1.21.

Its working fine now.

Very nice puzzle game. Must download.

And I think that this topic should be permanet; its essencial to japanese Wii users.

You need to update by the internet using the config. menu.

There is a PDF file with an english translation of the config. menu: http://sheylara.com/2007/05/24/wii-english...panese-systems/

What's the compatibility of the PAL Wii Fit to JAP Wiis? does it boot just with region change, or trucha is needed?

It works - but only managed to get Pal Wiifit working with Jap Wii by using Freeloader.

Can't open it using Trucha, but opens on WiiScrubber. Haven't managed to get it working this way yet though.

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
never had that i don't think
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)

    run h2testw on it
