Playing it now, the sand had square boxes on the first cutscene but otherwise looks very nice like the PS3 HD remaster.

Especially worth it since the PS3 versions all do not work on RPCS3.

For Jak 1 Google OpenGoal Jak & Daxter, they made it look really nice like an HD port far beyond only upgrading textures.
