Hardware It was just a crash?

Hello, so I was happy playing Mario Kart 7 in my old 3ds, but suddenly my screen just put with black and white vertical lines, and then, the bottom screen was in blue, I want to know if it was just a crash or a important problem, this is the first time it happened.
PD: My Mario Kart 7 is a cia installed game. With the update 1.1
