Hey, some time ago, a friend of mine started having some problems when launching games. I suspect It may because he hasn't updated to B9S yet. Have I done a good call? Or may the sd card be starting to fail as well? Haven't checked on It.

More than likely his SD is failing. Games aren't dependent on the custom firmware loader.
