greetings. i while back i modded my wii using modmii and was able to set up everything just fine. everything worked: emus, wiiware, wii iso's etc. now it's been months and it just decided to stop reading/detecting iso's. everything else works fine. i was using usbloadergx and i think i tried other wii loaders with no success. do i have to mod again or what's the bes course of action? i did try uninstalling the loaders and getting the latests versions to no avail. would using modmii to start from scratch brick my system or what do you guys suggest?

All your cios are still there and not stubbed. I would say you do not need to resoftmod your wii again.

Can you see the games in the loader or the games are not showing?

no. they used to work last i played a few months ago. if everything seems fine from the syscheck, then it's the loader....maybe? because i have my emus and roms in the same drive and they work just fine. what would you suggest?

You have not said if you can see the Wii ISO games in the usb loader.

For Wii game ISO to work you need to be using usb port 0.

Now that you have installed new usb loader files, make sure the loader is using the correct IOS in the loader settings, and also make sure the game settings has the correct IOS set to load the game. As for why the loader isn't seeing the games, maybe you updated the cIOS or you are using a different usb hdd, doing either could have broken the compatibility of the backup loader to recognize the usb device. You must have changed something to break the compatibility you had before.

i have always used a flash drive. i can't recall if i may have changed it during that time i wasn't using.

-i downloaded and installed the latest usbloader and it ran, but still no games. would formatting a new flash drive and transferring the games there work or how can i make it compatible? what would be the settings for using my flash drive? if i were to change to a hdd, what type would it be, because i have an old one around here i can use.

-the iso's used are the same and i have not changed them either. they were put in the flash drive via WiiBackUpManager in the wbfs folder. it was automated.

-i haven't messed with the cIOS or anything like that. is there an app i can use to check or put the right ones to work? i'm sorry for being a bother, but when i soft modded everything worked.

progress was made. i formatted another flash drive and transferred the games the with wbum. the games where recognized in usb loader and i was even able to download cover art. everything was good up to this point.

the problem now is that when i choose to run a game i just get a black screen and have to reboot my wii. :glare:

ok, so you had a hardware compatibility problem.

d2x cios v9 may get some of your usb devices recognized that are not recognized with d2x cios v8.

make sure to install d2x cios with a base of 56 to IOS 249, and d2x with a base of 57 to IOS 250. Then make sure the usb loader is using IOS249 to run, check that in the usb loader settings. Also in the game settings for each game you should have that set to 249, some games may require you change that to IOS 250. Another thing, some times you need to change additional settings to get out of region games to boot, always try to load games that are the same region as your Wii to prevent additional headaches on your part.

ok i have changed cIOS again and again. messed with the settings in the loader and game settings.....nothing. same results. i even re-modded the wii, but same results. mario kart ran once and then no more. i even switched flash drives again. is there a way to basically remove everything from the wii to start from a blank slate. at this point i'm giving up. here is another syscheck:

Re-installing or remodding is just like starting fresh, never delete anything unless you know what you are doing as deleting the wrong thing from your nand can brick your wii. It's probably something simple that is keeping your backup from running. Are you using a forwarder channel from the Wii menu or the homebrew channel to start the usb loader. d2x v6 is good but not up to date, v8 or higher please.
