So Ozmod, are you going to have pictures of these in a random pile on your shop floor for pictures so we can not order one from you?! I would just find it hard believe that someone would buy a chip from you when it is evident that you don't even keep them a little more organized...

What the fuck is with GBAtemp these days

Its not even a forum anymore
its a cesspit of fucking wanker trolls.
Admins of the website need to wake up and just start banning people that make pointles posts

For your information, a bunch of plebs from this website, refused to believe flatmii was real. I said I would post of picture of them. I took a picture with my mobile phoen camerea about 30 seconds after flatmii was delivered. This is how they where packed.

We have employees, that put all the components together and package them up - http://www.ozmodchipsfaq.com/ozmodfiles/pi...ii/DSC00201.JPG

Is it took much to ask to not be such a useless asshole for a while?

Jesus

Couldn't have said it better myself

Yea guess he doesn't take any shit

The chip will be able to boot images via a menu or burnt backup discs. We should have more details including all of the technical specifications in a couple of days.

There's an answer for redia, or anyone else who wanted to know if you could still use discs. Sounds good to me.

Oh, and here's the picture they give: http://www.tehskeen.com/gfx/200901/wiizii.jpg

Actually i agree with ironmask that i was not impressed with how the pile of flatmii's were, i guess in these circumstances the condition the manufacturer sends them is out of your hands, do many other chip manufactures send out their stuff like its cheap tat? as i would rather buy electronics that have had a better life even if it means paying a higher price. I would also assume that a reseller as highly rated as OZ modchips would prefer to receive stock in better condition where possible.

Summerset,

thank you for the info...
no we are mainly missing the price and the size.. it would be a shame if we could not close the box after plugging it.

Cheers,

however bad the "transhipment" has been between the supplier and seller, has their been any rejects...probably not....so Ozmod is correct, nice words man.....i was the one that kept saying its real, i know this as iv'e seen a SDHC loader, this was 6 months ago....too late in my eyes
tongue.gif
plus he posted a pic, asked by those doubters out their, i said NO NEED FOR PROOF....but ozmodchips did..
you know the stupid speculation and doubts on this forum......the messages, erm shit messages towards Ozmodchips are from the "types" of people that expect stuff for free, and wouldn't open their wii, as they're little girls trying to keep warranty, which is erm lets say extremely cheap!

But I'm wondering how this will actually work. Obviously you'll need a way to select an ISO to load. If this only requires an external hard drive, the selection has to be done on the Wii itself. So that means some kind of software. Which Nintendo can attack with new firmware updates.
In that perspective, I think FlatMii is more futureproof. The ISO selection is done on the computer and it just sends the data. The Wii just recieves this data and loads it as if it is a real DVD, and doesn't know it's being fooled.
I suspect you'll have to load a sort of "system" ISO onto the hard drive first that the Wii will boot by default, this will load a menu from which you can select the ISO you want to play.

This is purely speculation, I have no actual information to back this up. Seems the most sensible route to take though.

The system iso might even be stored in the flash ram, who knows.

am gonna gett me one of thesee.....as a XBMC owner (damn i love that box.) it seems that maybe i can finally replace my Xbox1 , now if we can just get it to stream my Dreambox i'll be as happy as a pig in shit lol.

Oz...any word on a price yet fellas??

running games off a hdd would be great, but running games off a hdd connected to the builtin usb port would be the better solution... because it's compatible with homebrew (and no hardmod is needed). when wiizii is released, its loader could be modified by adding libfat, so you could run backups without hardware modification via the usb port. (a usb2 driver has still to be written to run flawlessly)

now to flatmii.... imo having a modchip is more comfortable, because no need for a computer and it's portable. and dvds aren't that exepensive...

Beats me why anyone would want this when :

1. Drivechips are cheap, readily available and oh so easy to fit

and

2. The Twilight Hack & Wiigator combo is such a piece of piss to successfully pull off.

Is something wrong with you guys??? What do you mean it's too late and you wouldn't want this. An Sata Hard Drive on the Wii is a hacker's dream. I would assume that something like this would be able to be hacked or accessed as a standard device like we now access the SD or USB stick. I would buy this thing if it's accessabele outside of their custom loader in a heartbeat. Keep one set aside for me and PM me when you get them OZ! I''ll happily wire the money for express delivery.

BTW. How about the idea that if the DVD goes bad in the Wii then there's the possibility that you could hook up a cheap sata DVDR drive to the interface. Just speculation. Of course if it is able to be accessed as a standard device...... somebody is gonna have to fix the codecs and mplayer.

EDIT: now that I think about it, maybe the mplayer crashing is all related to stream interruption so that issue might be autmatically cured by the sata drive.

Thank to OzModChips, GBAtemp will actually be reviewing a FlatMii as soon as it arrives in my mailbox.

I for one think that it's a cool idea, and can't wait to put it through the paces!

This so reminds me of Boosters DEVHOOK days on psp mounting a iso to the mem card or using deamon tools the first time to mount a iso...lol...crazy to think that hackers have come so far in innovativly creating open source tools the replicate the same amazing results...I grin from ear to ear thinking about a REAL ISO loader for the wii I would also get this IN A HEARTBEAT!
(my dvd drive is going bad ever since i installed ios55 and the other NFS ios to use wiispeak and play animal crossing ive had a loud clicking sound while reading a disc and i have to RE-insert the disc a few times to load it in gamma) So this is (as mario says) "just what i needed" lol

Welcome to FLATMII's Web

FLATMII introduces a new concept in the Wii videoconsole use . Tired of DRE's ? Chipset
compatibilities with any drivemod , EPOXY'd or lastest unmoddeable D3 drives? Scratched discs? Broken wii
dvd disc drives? And long and noisy disc loadings ?

Share any wii supported format from your PC using Highspeed 2.0 USB protocol . Play,
and emulate any of your stored Wii/Gamecube image discs . Soldering installation, clip or any
software modification is not required for FLATMII.

You can even use your Wii without a Wii DVD drive or if the drive is faulty because it's not required
for the FLATMII use. Install FLATMII in only 5 minutes with a few "Plug and Play" steps.

Ok, since I'm getting so many PM's I thought it would be better to write a FAQ.
Enjoy.

1. What does it do?
> It tricks the Wii into thinking that FlatMii is the DVD drive.

2. What's so special about it?
> It has a builtin USB connector so you can stream your Wii ISO files to the Wii by using a PC.

3. If I install FlatMii, can I still use my DVD drive?
> Yes. There are two ways to install FlatMii, you can keep your drive and have FlatMii working at the same time or you can install FlatMii standalone which doesnt require a drive.

4. Do problematic games like SMG and SSBB work?
> SMG and SSBB are fully supported. Since FlatMii is not a modchip it will not get detected, and most SSBB issues are about the lens which FlatMii obviously does not have

5. If I install FlatMii, can I also play copied games on disc?
> Unfortunately you cannot. However, it's fully compatible with all drivechips.

6. Can I play my backups from any region?
> Partially. It gives you the same region-free options like any other modchip. However, using Gecko OS or by changing your Wii's region you can play everything.

7. Can I use trucha-signed ISOs?
> That depends on the version of your system menu and IOS. We recommend you do not update for this reason.
However, if you did update, you can either downgrade or use Gecko OS.

8. Are GameCube games supported?
> Yes they are. In fact you can create a huge multi-iso GC disc with all your games, since there is no file size limit

9. How about homebrew software like MPlayer and other homebrew that uses discs?
> They have all been reported working.

10. If I turn off the software, can I turn it on later and resume gameplay?
> Yes you can. Check out this video:

i think the flatmii is too expensive given all the other options. This is cool, but why not have a combination of the two? Possibly have a usb cord to plug into the computer and have a usb port like the wii does which would allow the use of usb flash drives or usb hard disks. It doesn't seem to convenient to have an exposed hard disk laying around... also I'm guessing it draws power from the Wii itself, which could potentially cause power supply issues. The best option might be an sd card reader (possibly even somehow utilizing the wii's built-in sd card reader).

in order to compete, the cost should be $40 for chip+triwing+shipping, otherwise it's hard to justify not just buying whichever game doesn't already work with the backup launcher (or whichever gc games you need)

Finally, a product that makes it worth to void warranty and open wii
smile.gif

how do you void a warranty? It's not like the wii has a sticker that says not to open....it doesn't have a seal to break. I've opened mine and sent it back to Nintendo and they fixed it with no questions asked. (bought one of the first ones that couldn't read DL discs)

This isn't Micro$oft with the warranty sticker that you will void.
