Hacking is usb loading possible?

I know this is kind of silly to most and un needed. However as a person who like to have the ability to play any game they want at the click of a button, my question is: Is it possible to boot up games from an external HDD? instead of installing the cia file to an sd card is it possible to install it to an external hdd? yes i know the cord will be annoying and all but i dont mind it. For the simple fact of not having to switch sd cards is worth it to me.

Get a 128 GB SD Card. I spotted them at Walmart for $30 or so. 256GB for $45 or so.

Use an external formatter to get them to Fat32, then you're good to go. Just remember the 300 games/apps limit.
