Thnx for helping :).

Lol... My griend brought me de note from Nintendo. It claims that the RAM is broken and needs to be replaced. Hmm is that Whats causing all THE troubles?

Well not to doubt Nintendo But Why am i still able to start games that are channel based? I do not believe it. Because then all THE things we have done with it would not be possible?! And it would not be THE first time a gamecompany lies about THE real cause just to get à bigger repair bill!

Common... There must still be something we can try? Please do not give up now :(.

I mean. THE ram won't break from à failed update? Because thats what hè claims now. Hè was updating from 4.1 to 4.3. Then THE update hang up and he got THE problem.

Oh and THE is Because i am in iPhone right now ;).

No, the RAM cant break from a failed software update. or well, pretty much only way would be if the software in question raised the voltage to the ram beyond its limit and fried it. BUT, if that was the case - the wii wouldnt start at all.
To be honest, I dont think any wii software even have access to adjust the voltages on the Wii - especially not official Nintendo updates.

To me it sounds like the entire NAND has been corrupted in a very very strange way, and getting it working again can be tricky (obviously, since this thread is 8 pages long already lol).

Anyway, I cant really contribute much in this issue, just wanted to say the thing about the ram :D
GL getting it working, and I hope you manage :)

Allright! Big and good news :D!

I installed IOS 249 (Dx2 v7 Final) and guess what? I can play Wii sports now with the Neogamma channel that i installed?!

So eh... that my RAM is broken is bull**** or else i would not be able to play games right?

I can play now :) thanks all for your help... IF someone still has any idea how to fix the Discchannel please let me know :). Or knows any way how to install Homebrew Channel etc.

Yes. I can fix it. Use infectus to install bootmii into boot2. Use bootmii to dump the nand and the keys. Use pune's nand building app "ohneswanzenegger" to build a new nand, flash it with bootmii, then use modmii to do a normal wii hacking. Done and done.

And I'm pretty sure tueidj is correct about this being a dopmii brick because of the presence of IOS0, and if I remember correctly that is only used for identifying as SU and the app for some reason doesn't delete it. And just because you have not used dop-mii does not mean that you could not have the same type of brick because dop-mii is just a whole bunch of other apps duct taped together, and then there are other apps that evolved from dop-mii.

Well... I cannot see if my friend is telling me every single bit that he did with the Wii (Maybe he tried to mod it himself i really don't know).

The Wii is fully functionall now as only i have to start games trough the Neogamma channel instead of the usual Disc Channel.

@ DeadlyFoez

So you can fix it? Is there some way that i could do this myself? (i live in the Netherlands and it's gona cost me lotsa money to get the Wii to the USA + i don't know what you charge for fixing up a Wii?!)

You'd have to purchase an infectus or a progskeet or some other type of flash programmer, learn how to solder VERY WELL, spend a shit load of time learning what to do and pray that you don't make any mistakes because if you do then you can't fix them.

I usually charge $40 USD for my labor. If you figure out how much it would cost for you to ship it to me then I might be able to work out something for you.

No, it's much worse than that. From the dlog.txt dump the device certificate is apparently missing the signature from Nintendo and was issued by Root-CA00000000-MS00000000 (instead of every other wii in existence which gets issued by Root-CA00000001-MS00000002). This would indicate the entire seeprom is blank. Yet somehow it passes the boot2 version check when starting up, as well as various other checks in the hackmii installer that should fail with a broken device certificate. Data can't both exist and not exist at the same time unless the RAM is faulty, which is exactly what ninty already said.

Most likely the RAM was already faulty and the 4.3 upgrade failed because of that. Not the other way around. You might be able to use the wii flawlessly for hours, days, maybe even months but it's always going to have the risk of random crashes or data corruption.

I was always hoping that someone would make a memtest for the wii. This would be the perfect reason to have one, although this type of situation is rather rare.

Luckily, I can replace ram chips. I've got one here that I had taken off of another wii and it is all balled up and ready to be reflowed. The OP should just send it to me and I'll get to the bottom of this one way or another.
