The card reader is viewed as a "Removable Media Drive]". Meaning what? You can insert and removed media from it. Its just like having a zip drive or Jazz drive or some other "Removable Media Drive" connected. There is no need to stop the device before taking out your memory card. Just be sure you don't have it open or are writing to it when you pull the card. You should be fine. I make it a point to wait about 30 seconds after closing the window before pulling my memory stick to be sure its done writing. No corruptions and no issues to date.

The only reason you should need to stop the device is for removing the reader.

I pulled mine out without that Safely Remove Hardware thingy for a while, then my SD got corrupted.

Or it could have been my adapter, the old one that also corrupts your SD.

I suppose it could be dependent on your computer, and possible processes/applications that may subconsciously associate with it. That's probably why we're all getting a range of varying results, whether or not you 'safely remove' it.

lol, i guess, but you have to safely remove it.. this is what i do

1. put micro sd in and adapter in USB
2. do whatever i need to do
3. safely remove
4 pull the adapter with the micro sd in it out, (all of it)
5. putt micro SD out
6. put cap on adapter on the adapter
