Long story short, a friend gave me a zelda edition old 3ds.
He had problems hacking it because of his previous failed attempt.
The 3ds does not boot with the sd card inserted (Power light is blue but there's no light on the 3d icon on the top screen 3d slider).
3ds boots without the sd card however the device freezes the instant you insert the sd card.
The SD card is completely empty and it seems like the 3ds doesn't even try to write the Nintendo 3DS folder into the SD card.
Rosalina menu does open with the button combination and the version is Luma3DS v9.1.
Booting while holding Select shows Luma3DS v9.1 configuration screen with a couple of options, the bottom screen has "Booted from CTRNAND via B9S" at the bottom of some text.
Booting while holding Start launches Godmode9 v1.7.1.
Godmode9 also freezes the moment I plug the sd card in.
I have also tried a different SD card and even replaced the SD card slot of the device. but the same problem continues.
I am desperate for help and I have no clue what to do next.
Any help is appreciated.

This sounds like something may be physically wrong with the SD card reader

I replaced the SD card reader but the problem still persists.

If you cannot boot into the 3DS with the SD card inserted, then you do not have "boot.firm" on the root (that is, Luma3DS). It may also have to do with a bad SD card reader.

You'll need to download the latest version of Luma3DS and boot9strap considering that the versions installed are pretty outdated.

I did try this but same thing happened unfortunately. I will give this another try with different Luma and b9s versions (maybe with the versions that are in the 3ds).

I mean, a sane person would try multiple sd cards before tearing the device apart to replace the sd card reader am I right? :P
