i've got the european version too, and the screens are aligned parallel on the second click

Did you put it on the desk?
If holding in the air it looks pretty much parallel here,too.
However when put on something solid there is a noticable unalignment.
Maybe I'm wrong though

DS lite was just like that 3DS pic. It's over 180 degrees.

Even if it's a bit more than the common 3DS, that's really nothing to worry about. As long as it stays in the 1st click, no worries there.

USA 3ds here, mine doesnt bend that much back on the last click. Its a bit straighter.

though not the 3ds ofc, it looks like everyone else's
