I don't own a 3DS myself, but I don't think that it should look like that either.

Correct, though I strongly suggest not doing this, ever, as it was the cause of the hinge problems on the DS lite.

Yeah, a girl I know plays her DS Lite hyper-extended like that, don't think it's ever occured to her to use the tilted position.

I used to do this for fun on my Lite and it's not even developed a hairline crack. I may be in a minority it seems. I wouldn't expect this to happen with the 3DS or at least not most of them as it seems the hinge is better designed and looks more sturdy.

You do not need to open the 3DS like that. Is this your first DS system?
Both screens do not to be lined-up. You're suppose to just open it up to an angle.
Just see the front page of this site (3DS recap topic) to have an idea on how it should open.
(Maybe I just got trolled...)

no, its my 4th system after ds, ds lite, dsi. all a them lined up fine when fully opened, the 3ds does not.

i dont play with the lid open like that, but for the games you need to hold your ds sideways i do.

the purpose of this thread was to know if other 3ds look the same when fully opened.

Ive never even seen a 3DS physically, But i do know that if you open the Nintendo DS all the way, it looks like this as well.

sry, this does not help at all. my 3ds looks the same if clicked into the first position. i need a picture or statement what it looks opened all the way.

i've got the european version too, and the screens are aligned parallel on the second click
