So my switch has been modified and I want to be safe. The guy that did the work had the file 'default.txt' in 'This PC\Nintendo Switch\SD Card\atmosphere\hosts' with the following inside:

is this the correct way to do it?

Whoa its over blocking Nintendo, but still xD
default.txt is blocking on both sysnand and emunand.

So I wont be able to connect to nintedo services on the sysnand? How do I fix this? I am quite new and haven't really found any good tutorial of what and how to set up. I still want to be able to play legit games since I own animal crossing but I still havent even connected to wifi because I dont want to do anything dumb.

You just need to rename to default.txt to emummc.txt :)

<-- good guide (Last NOTE tell you about the renaming)
okay so this will automatically only block on the emu? Is there a way to check afterwards if its correct?
I'll check it out. However, is there a really thorough tutorial for generally everything? Like on how and where to install games?

edit: if i dont use atmosphere on the sysnand will I still have to do it as the last note says?

Default.txt will only block access to Nintendo servers on sysmmc if you boot with Atmosphere. If you boot normally (OFW) the file has no effect and you don't have to rename it. In fact I would keep it as default.txt because if you boot sysmmc with Atmosphere by mistake it will prevent access to Nintendo servers

so i should leave it as it is? Should I add other blocks for nintendo?
Post automatically merged:

No, default.txt is for both.
okay so I shouldnt nevermind

- you only need to do the emunand version.

If you are unsure how most of this work, just check out this tutorial -
okay so after checking apparently the guy who modded it already installed exosphere. However, its for both sys and emu i think:
[exosphere]
debugmode=1
debugmode_user=0
disable_user_exception_handlers=0
enable_user_pmu_access=0
blank_prodinfo_sysmmc=1
blank_prodinfo_emummc=1
allow_writing_to_cal_sysmmc=0
log_port=0
log_baud_rate=115200
log_inverted=0

i think i should leave it for now since I am not thinking of going online on nintendo any time soon. Lets just keep it blocked. Is it safe for me now to connect to wifi? Also where can i find games im completely lost.

Well as it is right now, you can't use your sysnand online, since blank_prodinfo_sysmmc=1 is on, you have to change it to 0.
